2013 Hoop A Holics Camp closes as a smash
The overwhelming success from PassThaBall’s Hoop-A-Holics Camp goes far beyond the over 130 players who registered for the two session event. It’s always good to get the kids on the map early but equally important for the players to observe other players to get an idea on where they need to be. The list of players read like a Who’s Who of talent that will make their presence felt not only in high school but the next level as well. I’m playing this stuff in my head and when you have players in attendance who haven’t played one minute of high school ball that have already committed, well like 6’3 Charli Collier who gave the “AOK” to Texas a few weeks ago. Collier along with Shae Routt and Tatum Veitenheimer are BCS 2018 players.
When you have a player who I don’t want to put any pressure on by comparing her to the great ones with similar styles and builds like Nyah Green, who is only a 2019 yet could start on just about any high school team I’ve seen. How about Kennedy Tucker and Elizabeth Scott, also from the 2019 class, I could say the same about them. What about 2020 featuring Deja Kelley and Deyonna Gaston? That is a solid nucleus that would make an F4 run if they played together in college and these are only a handful of players that I could interchange others with that were in attendance but I just had to show you what type of star power I saw
I’ll be writing about the Hoop A Holics Camp until next week with Tip Sheets coming at you from everywhere. One things for certain, at these ages, no one can be counted out to play at the next level and with many players; this stuff tends to even out. The main thing is to keep working and comprehending what’s being taught. Stories will be coming on here and on the blog and every player in attendance is on my Watch-List for their respective classes. Special thanks to the Irving Macarthur dynamic duo of Tori Jacobs and Tana Driver. Tori and Tana were both spotted by me at camps while they were in middle school and I also “called it” as far as them playing at the next level after seeing them in action. Tori has signed with Minnesota, she’ll be attending their next season, while river, one of the top 2015 point guards in Texas, has several offers on the table. They never stopped working, comprehending and improving their games
