Texas Invitational signed and unsigned senior tip sheet

2013 Tx Inv Man Sum Strange

DESTINY STRANGE (MANSFIELD SUMMIT)

PASADENA, Texas- The Texas Invitational is one of the most prestigious events in the state and when you have the type of firepower brought in from out of the area that tells you something. I’ve given you my All Semifinal Tip Sheet, well here’s another one for some of the other senior standouts in the tournament. Some seniors would have been on my Who’s Hot list however if they are unsigned, their names need to be out there now so I’m sort aan innovator at popping up with various names for these tip sheets so here’s another one for you

Nicole Iademarco-6’1 forward- The Woodlands- One thing I always remember about Nicole is she had this unbelievable range at a very young age and she was long. Over the years, she made various additions to her game which will come in handy at Arizona State. Iademarco was almost unstoppable throughout the event as she average close to 40% of her team’s points

Keara Hudnall-5’10 forward-Pearland-If you use the search bar on my blog, you can sort of check out the timeline on this young lady who is going to blow up at McNeese State. Her work ethic enables her to compete with players four or five inches taller and I said if she was a couple of inches taller herself, she’d be a Top 100 caliber player. Check the video on thee blog

Destiny Strange-6’0 forward-Mansfield Summit-I’m scratching my head on this one being unsigned. She’s strong, athletic and can finish around the basket. She’s a lefty that can square up and hit the jumper or take defenders off of the dribble and her strength enables her to rebound

Jasmine Nash-5’8 guard-Klein Collins- Nash is explosive and can go by just about anyone yet she is unsigned. She has good body control and can defend. Her performance from bta was one of the best I saw at the Texas Invitational. With several players out due to injuries, Nash role changed and she responded by dropping five three’s in the first half of one game and three in five minutes of another. I didn’t follow her around the event but the total was staggering

Aisha McLaurin-5’9 forward-San Antonio Jay- She’s strong and athletic and her body control enabled her to do some entertaining things in the paint, score with flair. She plays hard on both ends and isn’t afraid to battle down low. Her intensity level stayed the same each time I saw her

Lili Scott-5’8 guard-North Shore-One of my top ranked players in the area, I’m truly baffled by this one. Scott can score from mid to long range, can rebound and handle the ball plus she can defend. She hit some big shots during the TI and has ever since I’ve been watching her

Tyler Davis-5’8 guard-Cy Woods- Davis is a money player and that means she has come up with ore big buckets at the right time, I’m talking school and club, as some of the more known names out there. Last season, I called her “Miss Excitement” however she’s battled minor injuries over the last month which have gone away, which showed as the excitement has returned

Jazzmen Ortiz-5’7 guard-Temple HS- I’ve watched this young lady since middle school, she could always shoot however she is another that expanded her game yet still unsigned. She can be a combo however defenders sometimes can’t figure out the code to unlock her which was apparent throughout the event and she closed with 18

Shelby Dixon-5’8 guard-Desoto-Unlike the car that bore the same name, this Desoto always has talent and Dixon was one of the pleasant surprises at the event. My hours vary and sometimes I need a boost, watching her athleticism, especially on one sleight of hand shot in which she went right to left to right energized me all day

Kristin Mahoney-5’8 guard- The Woodlands- The Iona signee simply does things in a smooth and silent was. Nothing flashy, she just gets the job done. She shoots the midrange as well as anyone in the area; she’s improved every year since I saw her back in middle school and what I admire even more than her coming back from an ACL injury is she’s a team first player
