District 21 teams won’t concede just yet

District 21 belongs to North Shore and if they stay healthy, I don’t see anything changing, at least on paper. One thing I’ve found out over the years is that the game is played on the court and a couple of district rivals with a shot at slowing down the Mustangs happened to look pretty good at the Greater Houston Invitational. Port Arthur Memorial has a lot going for them at every position, Joyce Kennerson and Jakeira Ford made some huge strides over the summer. Downtown Victoria Brown dropped six or seven consecutive threes for me during the summer while Kennedi Lofton makes that monster 2017 class scarier.

Taeler Deer scored almost at will during the GHI, play her too close, she blows right by you, give her an inch, mid to long range, she’s nailing it more than not. Shannon Jones certainly helped herself a bunch during the summer; she’s one of the top sophs in the state while other sophs including Taylor Anderson, DD Dobbins and Marshell Hollins continue to get better
