2013 Who Got Next Camp
MANOR, Texas- I’m always happy to find new talent, especially somewhere in my back yard, which is anywhere I can drive without stopping for a bite. This was the first camp put on by Austin Elite to give Central Texas players a golden opportunity to have a chance to not only be seen but, legitimately evaluated and ranked, especially in case they’ve been missed or not placed in the right situations for whatever reasons to have their names out there, well here.
Nevertheless everything went smoothly and with close to 50 players at the inaugural event, this will only grow and get better. I’ve tried to mention just about everyone in the various mini stories I did on the blog and always remember to use the search bars on both this website and the blog and by chance I spelled the names right, you’ll be able to read about them.
With several outstanding players in attendance, I’m doing a little something different and picking an All Star squad from the Who Got Next Camp
Starters
Courtney Brown-6-2 forward-Cedar Ridge-Brown can kill you from just about anywhere on the floor and was one of the top offensive players at the camp
Troi Sain-5-5 guard-McNeil- One of the most electrifying players not only in the camp but her class. First step is a blur
Jazzmine Ortiz-5-5 guard-Temple-Combo guard that can do two important things from both spots. She can score and she won’t hurt you by turning the ball over
Taylor LaCour-6-0 forward-Georgetown-I didn’t realize how good she was however her showing at WGN legitimizes she’s a D1 player
Kennedy Harris-5-8 forward-Anderson– She is going to blow completely up over the next season and her camp MVP status will trickle over to BCS
Reserves
Taylor Green-5-7 guard-Georgetown- Green certainly knows how to make a lasting impression and off the top I knew she was one of the unknowns you will know about
Stephanie Onyge-5-7 guard-Pflugerville-Speed always helps and Ongye used it to her advantage on both ends. She made things happen when needed
Kiera Darling-5-10 post-Manor HS– Her performance showed why Manor will make a run at the playoffs. She’s not six feet but she plays like it
Tia Harston-5-6 guard-Kileen-She breezed through the drills and put up numbers in the flow during scrimmages, what more can I say
Maddie Anderson-5-11 forward-Georgetown-Anderson just keeps progressing and her dual scoring threat, in or outside of the paint made her to handle
