Cy Fair Invitational Sunday Tip Sheet
TIA WRIGHT
The Cy Fair Invitational had teams playing from across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi and I was thrilled to see a variety of not only new faces who are on the right track to the next level but also others who are simply solidifying their standings by showing improvement in not only their talent and skills, but comprehension of the game as well
2016
Sarah and Allison Goss-5’2 combos-Katy Rebels Goss
The first time I saw these young ladies I was impressed by their fight and smarts and the fact that they competed in spite of their size. I’ve seen a lot of improvement in a year and to be honest, I couldn’t tell them apart as both showed they could run the one or two effectively
2017
Marissa Banfield-5’5 guard-Cy Fair Nike Elite 2016
The future continues to be bright for this young player as she already could dribble, she already could pass and based on the ten threes she knocked down in a tournament at 10 against 13 year olds, she could shoot. She’s gotten stronger and smarter and her ability to take over a game has arrived
Brianna Longoria-5’4 guard-Sophia Young Elite
A lot of people get shooters and scorers confused when they describe basketball players, I don’t and Longoria can do both. Whether inside or outside, this young lady has a variety of ways to put the ball in the basket, all in the flow of the game which is even more important
Tia Wright-5’9 guard/forward-Cy Fair Nike Elite AC
Not only is Tia Wright DYNOMITE, Wright’s future is oh so bright. This was my third sighting and what a charm it turned out to be as she simply played even better against older and stronger competition. Her strong body enables her to battle underneath for points and it also enables her to create from wherever she wants
2018
Katlyn Ghavidel-5’4 guard-South Texas Hoyas Gray
Once you establish yourself as a legitimate shooter, it’s almost a certainty that you will be able to play at the next level. When you start adding little things to make yourself more appealing to colleges is when the variety of choices will come. Ghavidel is doing just that as her game continues to evolve
2019
Elecia Lartigue-5’4 guard-Sports Vision Elite
I recall this bright eyed young lady showing promise three or four years ago as she tagged along with her older sister. Now she’s being tagged as “it” as one of the bright stars from her class you’ll be hearing about from her class. She handled herself playing a couple of years up and did some damage in the process
