Foster edges Galveston Ball
This was my first look at both Foster and Galveston Ball so I was excited to see both teams, especially Ball who had not made the playoffs in a few years and this turned out to be one of the most exciting ones I’ve witnessed so far in the playoffs for this season as Foster held on to win 51-50.
Lexi Fatheree and Kayla Mitchell were on fire for the Lady Falcons and combined for 36 of their teams 51 points. The senior Father had to have close to triple double as she was rebounding and blocking shots as if she was possessed to go along with her 17 points while sophomore Mitchell, who has been back for only a little over a month after breaking her ankle, has taken her game to another level. I always knew she could however her maturity on the court spoke volumes last night, not to mention her ability to get wherever she wanted anytime she wanted
The Lady Tors are done for the season and they may have lost this battle but with a talented young group coming back, they are smidgen away from doing some big things. Sophomore Martina Rawls was virtually unstoppable and this young lady took over the game in the last quarter en route to her 21 points which included a three to close the gap to one. Rawls, along with sophomores Sheridan Hopkins and Olivia Sjostron and Sheridan Hopkins, who scored 11 on the night, along with junior Armani Boxley, will create some issues for opponents next season. Senior Jordan Raschke finished with 10.
