Many “Younger Guns” showing promise already

I did a Q&A with some of the parents while the attendees were eating lunch and several great questions were asked including “when is it too much”. My philosophy is every player has their own limits and most parents can tell when enough is enough. The youngest of the campers, some I imagine around six or seven brought back vivid memories of when my daughters first started hooping and I recall one instance in particular where they were playing in a co-ed league. My oldest was outscoring the other team while my youngest was over by the bench, totally not paying attention to the game and doing flips on a bar while plaits were flying everywhere but she was happy.

At the early ages it should be fun for the kids, those are developmental years for mostly developmental players and one thing I did stress was not to be too hard on the kids for making mistakes because more times than not, I’m sure they feel bad enough about it already. With that being said it should also be more about learning how to play the game as opposed to the final score on the clock.  Another parent asked what age did I start placing players on my radar, well everyone who participated in the “Young Guns Camp” is now officially on the GPR Watch List for their respective classes and I’m looking forward to watching their progression over the years
