Timberview’s Triple Threat

Mansfield Timberview could be a sleeper team to make it to Austin primarily because of three reasons, Lili Thompson (2013), Terriell Bradley (2014) and Jalea Bennett (2014). Not only are they three of the top players in their classes, Thompson has already committed to Stanford while Bradley and Bennett have several D1 offers on the table as I type, they could conceivably make a run at a state title. Last season the threesome accounted for 70 percent of Timberview’s offense and I expect all three will once again score in double figures again with their high octane firepower which will have defense trying to figure out how to pick their poison.

One thing is for sure, they are in one of if not the toughest region in the state, the last two state champs, Irving Macarthur and Duncanville, have come from Region 1 and they are in the same district with Duncanville who is my early favorite as the state’s top team after I learned Cedar Hill lost one of their top players for the season. One thing is for sure, there will be some exciting basketball throughout the season and Timberview will be in their fair share. I’ll get a chance to see them in the Katy ISD Classic and also the Mansfield Rotary Tournament
