Thomas takes control

If ever the phrase “seizing the opportunity” fits, it would be now as Sydney Thomas inherits the starting point guard spot for Cinco Ranch High School. The Cougars are in one of those transition type situations losing three starters from last season’s team including Megan Palmer (Rice) however with three committed players on this season’s team, Angie Moore, Jaylan McClure and Taylor Williams to go along with the feisty Thomas, this team could create some problems.

One thing is for sure, they will start off with one of the toughest schedules off the top against Bush and Manvel, two teams who are not only considered to be the frontrunners for their district titles but also two teams that very well could make the R3 Final 4, not to mention being in a very tough pool at the Texas Invitational where they have to compete against Bellaire, Mansfield Summit and Pearland but with all that being said, Thomas is up for the challenge after a solid summer and ready to help her squad make some noise.
