New Faces 17U Varsity Division #AllEyesOnShe
I love catching talented NEW FACES on the court and here are some of the players I hadn’t seen or seen enough of
Francie Sarrat (Austin Fierce) 2025 loved the way she battled for the ball off the rim, well loose balls as well but she did a good job on both ends inside the paint. Her defense was solid, she also scored around the basket, putbacks included
Carly Gonzalez (Austin Fierce) 2026 used her height and length to her advantage as she showed good timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots. She showed she could defend inside the paint and score around the basket
Payton Peniston (Austin Fierce) 2025 showed solid court vision both in the set as well as in transition yet her playing the passing lane had me smile because I love seeing that. She also did a good job attacking off the dribble to finish
Caroline Dougherty (Sweat Hoops) 2025 hit the boards hard on both ends and I loved seeing her go AFTA the ball. She also applied pressure defensively, nice lateral movement to guard her man outside the paint and has a soft touch to score facing the basket to go along with scoring inside the paint
#20 (Sweat Hoops) played solid “on the ball” defense and the pressure she applied helped lead to turnovers. She made some steals using her quick hands and also got some by playing the passing lane but her BATTLING for loose balls had me smiling because #sizedontmatter when you can play
Aundrea Garcia (Team HOT Blue) grabbed my attention immediately by diving on the floor for a loose ball, #THROWBACK but she also hit the boards hard, showed good timing inside the paint, and scored off the dribble
Antaniece Jackson (Team HOT Blue) is an athletic guard who uses her athleticism on both ends of the court. She applied pressure baseline to baseline but she also attacked the basket strongly and finished after contact. She also showed she could from outside, her “catch and shoot” was nice
Gracie Martinez (Team HOT Blue) also did a good job rebounding, on both ends yet her court vision both in the set as well as in the open court were nice. She also showed she could create her shot under pressure and knock it down from outside
