SA Lady Hoops 2029 #TJShowcase

TAYZA CUNIGHMAM

I remember when Director Antonio Holmes asked me to come and look at his squad years ago because he had some talented players that no one was talking about and he was correct. I’m, amazed at how players leave certain teams and go to others and blow up, even though they’re doing nothing different than what they were doing before, especially after I already said they were this or that

The bottom line is college can’t see everyone which is why I send information on certain kids and this era of being hun on what level of the next level kids play on, it’s sad because most don’t even know how many colleges and universities, how many are D1, how many offer full rides or even partials yet the ignorance is overwhelming for me.

I saw a tweet from supposedly a D1 coach saying D1’s were the only level that offered full rides which was incorrect on that as well as all D1 universities do NOT offer athletic scholarships and my being in MENSA doesn’t-make me smarter or more intelligent, my not falling for BS has put me on another level and helped guide me through the nonsense as my daughter plays at the HIGHEST of levels

I’m always happy to see coaches working to et their players somewhere, it’s a job and many kids in this program wind up playing somewhere yet this new group is filled with potential as they were Runner Up and I’, always transparent, I was kicked of MENSA for some morality nonsense but here ya go

KAYLEENE SANCHEZ

Tayza Cunningham has the spin move down already and watching her use it in transition after rebounding and going to coast told me a lot yet her court vision was nice, she attacks and finishes strongly and she plays the passing lane. She also did a good job defensively

Aryanna Mata uses a deceptive first step to get the defender to lean and that gives her options to attack the basket, which she can do with either hand and finish after contact, body control is nice. She also showed she could create her shot and drop the jumper

London Lamonth played solid defense, whether it was in the set or baseline to baseline, and since she enjoy applying heat, she also enjoyed grabbing rebounds on both ends of the court

Ava Thomas has the #sizedontmatter hashtag in bold red letters because she can play. I wrote FEARLESS in caps yet NO CAP because she “ain’t scared of nothing” and watching her attack and stay with it after contact was nice, so was her defense and she played the passing lane

Ja’Siah McIntyre is “long and athletic” and please remember that is and will always be the base. Her upside is very nice, she has good timing, she plays the passing lane, and her “on the ball” pressure was nice. She also did a good job rebounding

Maya Clark is playing UP and let me say this, her ceiling has no roof. She’s a “long and athletic guard” that still works with the statement above and her court vision at this stage is way ahead of her years. She has solid moves off the dribble to attack the basket, her defense and playing the passing lane were nice but watching her hit the jumper in the set as well as in transition had me smiling

Kayleene Sanchez understands something very important and that’s positioning around the basket. She uses her frame and strength to score in the paint, putbacks included because she rebounds on both ends. She also ran the floor and defended well

Amaris Walker also used her frame well around the basket and she understands how to defend in the paint, even showing nice lateral movement to step outside of it and guard her man. She did a good job rebounding and has a good upside

Zipporah McDonald asked me if I was coming to see her play and I said no. She said you used to watch Genesis and I responded “I was scared of her” She just smiled after I assured her I wouldn’t miss seeing her and peep this, she gets the cover because she’s going to be hard to cover, see what I did, #ThereIsNoMe. I love seeing players “play within themselves” and with her being heady, able to handle the ball and see the floor, things will fall into place. She not only handled the ball in the open court but her “big girl” on the money passes was very nice, and so was her attacking from multiple angles. She has a nice jumper and played the passing lane

Grace Galvan was out with a minor injury and the countless times I’ve watcher watch her older sister play, I was happy to catch her at one of my FINAL Alamo City Hoops events I covered so I can’t wait to catch her in the future
