’22 PassThaBall #NXTUp 2028 Class
A solid group with several not only next-level locks but #D1Locks as well. Keep working, you never know when a REAL evaluator is looking, I’m talking about me so here you go
Ariele Warren-5’5 G/F (Team Lex)
Warren’s on-the-ball defense is even stronger than when I last saw her, and so is her rebounding on both ends yet she’s even handling the ball in the open court after rebounding to either score or dish. She also did a good job attacking and finishing in the set
Gilliam George-5’5 G (Higher Goals)
George did a good job of not only creating her shot but knocking it down. She also has a deceptive first step which enabled her to get to the basket from the outside and score after contact. She also showed court vision and made good decisions
Kayleigh Phillips (Cy Fair)
Phillips is an athletic guard that played solid “on the ball” defense both in the 5 on 5 games as well as the 1on 1 drill. She attacks strongly from wherever she wants and showed some impressive body control to finish after contact
Ariana Warren 5’5 G (Team Lex)
Warren has also elevated her game since I last caught her and elevating on her midrange jumper was a big plus. She sets the defender up off the dribble yet if they give her room, here comes the pull-up. She also grabbed rebounds on both ends and played solid defense
Lanae Dallas-5’6 G (Hoop Society)
Dallas has a variety of moves in the open court and to be honest with you, she can accelerate while staying under control with the ball. She’s “long and athletic” which is the base and watching her score off the dribble, especially showing the spin move going full speed, was nice
Trinity Jackson-5’3 G (Missouri Phenom)
Jackson is an athletic guard that falls into that “never takes a play-off” type of player yet her “on the ball” defense was among the best at the camp. She dove on the floor for loose balls, she exploded to the basket off the dribble, she also created her shot and dropped the jumper
Sloan Van Slingerland-5’2 G (Higher Goals)
Van Slingerland mixed it up nicely as she showed she could not only handle the ball under pressure yet see the floor under pressure as well. Her passes were crisp and on the money but she made the right decisions. She also set the defender up in the set and scored off the dribble
Hadley Soto-5’3 G (Team Lex)
Soto understands the simple things and used them wisely because, with her slight hesitation on her head fake, she was able to get by defenders to the basket. She even went baseline to finish a few times. To top that off, she played solid “on the ball” defense
Sariyah Crater-5’8 F (Team Lex)
Crater showed me several things in the 1 on 1 drill, like she understands how to create contact and she has good timing on defense to block shots. She’s long and athletic, she rebounded on both ends of the court, handled the ball under pressure, and blew by defenders to score off the dribble
Jordyn Haywood-5’10 F (Missouri Phenom)
Haywood is also “long and athletic” did I forget to mention that is the base? I love how she elevates on her jumper, with her length and wingspan, her shot is hard to block yet her explosiveness off the dribble enabled her to soar and score using nice body control and finishing after contact
Braleigh Castle-5’7 P (Hoop Society)
Castle did something over and over that I like to see, she took the midrange jumper, which has become a lost art. More importantly, she made it yet she also scored off the dribble and finished after contact, but on the flip, her defense as well as timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots, was nice
Arianna Robinson-5’8 G (Pro Skills)
Robinson has that COP, so you better call the law, yeah I’ve used that before but her “change of pace” in traffic is ahead of her years. So is her body control as at times it seems she’s suspended in the air to let the defender go by before she finishes but she also showed the jumper, mid to long-range
Keliah Thomas-Browne-5’7 F (Team Lex)
Browne showed me a lot at #NBC22 a few months ago yet her progression tells me even more about what’s coming. She attacks the basket powerfully and under control, she finishes after contact but she also can drop the jumper. She did a good job rebounding on both ends of the court and also defended well
Chasia Allen-5’7 G (Team Lex)
Allen did a good job of not only playing within herself but understanding how to get hers in the flow. She understands how to set screens as well as force players into the trap but she also handled the ball well and scored off the dribble. Her curt vision was also nice
Addie Seal-6’0 G/F (True Texas Hoops)
Seal got the #D1Lock dropped just like she drops her jumpers and with her already being a “big guard” that can drop it from anywhere, college coaches will be a coming. Her mid to long-range, her off-the-dribble scoring, and her ballhandling has improved and elevated her entire game
Addyson Flowers-5’5 G (Team Lex)
Flowers does something I love to see, she plays the passing lane. She too is”long and athletic” and the jump she has made since #NBC22 when I said she was “on the verge” of breaking out in a big way stood out, one more time, I am a REAL EVALUATOR. Her first step left the defender cemented to the court yet her tenacity on defense was very impressive
Kennedi McClendon-5’10 F (EBA)
McClendon already has the college-ready frame and I foresee everything else will fall into place. Her soft touch around the rim immediately impressed me during the 1 on 1 drill but she also did a good job of taking the defender “off the dribble. In the 5 on 5, she rebounded on both ends and scored on putbacks but she also ran the floor, on both ends of the court
