Just Play Elite 13U 2022 #simmiecolsonclassic
This is one of the fastest-growing organizations in the city and after catching a glimpse of what was coming watching coming when Riley McCloskey and Abigail Tomaski were in the 8th grade, I have watched countless players not only develop and progress on the court yet move on to the next level but peep this, let me also add that McCloskey and Tomaski are entering their last summer and are both listed in the PGH Texas Top 100 but what about the babies
Tess Stephenson, Bailey Burns, and Lyla Delafosse continue to elevate their games, all were highlighted on PGH Texas article from #simmiecolsonclassic but so were Noelle Swanson and Alexandria Gordon on another and Mackenzie Teuton and Benita Byrd on yet another so the future is bright for a number of reasons
Teuton will be one of the top PGs in the state, no if and or butts, she has things you can’t teach plus she’s heady and plays within herself
Byrd will be flying all over the place. She does things “instinctively” and when you’re athletic and poised, plus skilled, things will fall into place
Swanson is just one of those players that fall into the “scorer” category, why asks the novice, because she finds ways to put the ball in the basket, inside or outside
Gordon is also going to create several problems inside the paint because of her skill-set and versatility around the basket, she even scored after contact
Stephenson is another threat to score multiple ways, watching her understand how to get hers “in the flow” tells me a lot about what’s coming
Delafosse upside is somewhat frightening, for defenders, not me because I see big things coming just on her skillset and mannerisms
Burns continues to elevate her game to show she can do more than launch and drop from deep. Her lateral movement on defense, ball-handling under pressure as well her court vision had me smiling
Rylee Poindexter understands how to create her shot under pressure and take defenders with either hand and finish with either yet she also can shoot it from outside
MIA but not my mind were a couple of players that are Tip Sheets waiting to happen every time I see them as both were on a mini-vacation
Sydnee Marshall– when a 4th grader breaks a game down to me and knows exactly what they’re talking about, I definitely file that in my memory bank yet knowing her since she was a baby, well before she was born in fact, watching her perform the first time just left me speechless because she’s powerful inside, scores, rebounds and defends and is just going to do some damage
Kamdyn Flora also falls into that “I knew her before she was born category” yet I have already locked her in at #D1 for a number of reasons including her not settling on what she can do, which is score however you want it, but also defend and rebound, plus she plays the passing lane is already an entrepreneur
