2021 The Prolific #TP3 AOH 2027
I have seen Academy Of Hoops squads and players multiple times, head coach Austin Johnson reminded me of catching an older squad in Arkansas at the overly impressive Border War event yet I also caught several of their players at Individual Showcases, most recently the one Hoop 10 hosted at Wayland basket yet this squad has a little bit of everything. Didn’t catch Carmella Guerrero as I was moving between gyms yet I’ll see her soon
Angel Green-I have numerous stars but her name yet I was already familiar with her game and her passion is something you can’t teach, she scores acrobatically attacking the basket yet her body control is part of it, her first step is explosive and so is her elevating for the jumper and she plays the passing lane
Kesslye Fuller– solid on both ends, understands how to get hers in the flow, good upside yet her BB-IQ is high so that will play a huge part in what comes next
Joie Reed- she’s a powerful rebounder on both ends yet she also finished after the lick. Nice moves around the basket , well nice hands and footwork as well
Jalia Mitchell-long and athletic is the BASE and by that I mean that’s the profile I use and what the player adds determines a lot and when you factor in her UPS, timing to black shots and playing the passing lane, that’s really good yet her finishing strongly will raise eyebrows
Addi Johnson– how about she’s in the 5th grade holding it down, that’s how I determine a lot of things and her “poise under pressure” was enough to tell me what’s coming yet her handling the ball and seeing the floor against the double team and her scoring off the dribble, she has a very huge upside
Braelyn Rogers– filled in many blanks, does things to help squad that don’t necessarily show up in box score yet she defends and forces players to the trap, also set picks that led to baskets
Emily Sims– loved watching her set the defender up to take off the dribble, creating your shot always gets me but so does body control which enabled her to create contact. She also handles the ball in the open court and sees the floor
Kamryn Soukup-went after the ball off the rim, that’s a lost art yet the drawing didn’t stop there as she zig-zagged through traffic in the open court showing she could handle the ball and finish, after contact but she also showed she could drop the outside shot
