Woodlands Defend Title With Ease
The Woodlands have not been challenged this season as they win not only their fifth game in a row without a loss, but they defend their Conroe Lady Tigerette Championship and one of those wins was against TABC 4A #5 Huntsville (73-51). It was a toss-up for me on either going there and watch them play in the finals against Klein Oak or attend the Spring Branch ISD again and see Cy Falls take on Klein Forest, but when you already know the outcome for both, the shorter drive makes more sense. Anna Strickland, Paige Bradley and company have come out pushing and pressing their opponents which has enabled them to score 361 points so far this season while giving up 181, that’s a 2-1 margin, well if you round it up. Even though it is very early, they are ready to be tested for real this week in the Texas Invitational. I’ve made comments about this team being unranked and although I do it in a joking way, it’s really not funny. This will be a great opportunity for the Highlanders to show not only that they belong, but importantly, I was correct. Even if it doesn’t play out right, the season is young and if they stay healthy, you may have to figure out how to get to Austin going I-45.
