2020 Bigfooot #KingwoodClassic Championship Sunday recap

'20 Kingwod Big Foot

CYPRESS, TEXAS- When Prime Time Sports acquired Bigfoot Hoops, I knew big things were coming because David Stephens has been making things happen in Texas for 20 years so when he told me about girls being in the Kingwood Classic, it was a “no brainer” that I had to be there and I can’t emphasize what I say over and over, talent is everywhere and personal mission statement when I started doing this was to find players good enough to play at the next level and my rankings add “at what level of the next level” so to say I left pleasantly pleased would be an understatement

I’ll drop a Tip Sheet right here probably tomorrow listing some of the outstanding players, I’ll also drop something on Prep Girls Hoops as well but here a quick recap of Championship Sunday’s Championship games and to those who sent me rosters, I truly appreciate it

11/12 Grade Division

Big Basketball (38) Rice Raptors Legacy (37)

Big Basketball pulled off one of the best come from behind victories I’ve seen all season in not just a championship game but any competitive game and they did it without Daniela Alzate who was having a monster tournament before she was injured in the semifinal. Lilly Baumgardner was steady all tournament and is definitely on the All-Tournament squad both here and Prep Girls Hoops but without the clutch performance from Sarah Narum who scored the last 8 points in the game, maybe 8 out of 10 but she was not to be denied in this defense battle

Rice impressed me in a variety of ways, first the North Shore girls Atria Dumas and America Castillo have taken their games to another level, what do I love, progression and they will play a big part on how well the team does this season. Also, Precious Jackson-Sanders, who has made my Tip Sheet before, let’s do it again as she too has elevated her game

9/10 Grade Division

Pro Skills SATX (60) Lady Defenders (30)

San Antonio came down for a reason and they left with the big trophy as well as leaving me with some lasting memories. The improvement from both Belcia Martinez as well as her sister Alyxa had me beaming from ear to ear while Lyah Neira put on a shooting exhibition, hadn’t seen her in a very long time and speaking of long, 6’2 freshman Lexie Edwards sent me a message with an exclamation point, PGH Texas 2024 Watchlist

7/8 Grade Division

Power Basketball (32) San Antonio Select (29)

Power avenged a three-point loss to SA Select on Saturday (40-37) but this was really a defensive battle but let me say this, Power has some “names you need to know” in the Houston area coming up. Jakaila Lee has the offensive tools to become a nightmare to defend, Keynarjah Robinson and Brooklyn Mims are long and athletic and Brittnay Anderson went off playing up. You know what, for sending me a COMPLETE roster, I’m doing something on the whole team my blog, that’s coming up but San Antonio Select has some players as well, The Carter sisters, Jocelyn Torres, and SIZE DON’T MATTER Carleigh Reyes OMG

Tip Sheet coming, plus a little more, follow me on social media @girlzprepreport Facebook, Twitter, and The Gram as well as my BLOG
