2018 PassThaBall Super 60 STL
ALANA HINSON scores again
ST LOUIS, MISSOURI-PassThaBall became one of the innovator’s to the girls basketball side with her unique style of breaking down players games right before your eyes and those methods have snowballed into something huge as she continues to take the show on the road finding new talent across the country which is awesome for me since one thing I know and say over and over, talent is everywhere and I’m definitely glad I was in St Louis to see it up close and personal and in the HS Division, several definitely caught my eye
2018
Amia Wright (Centennial HS) -5’7 PG- I wrote silent assassin by her name as I’m having flashbacks on how she just got it done in the flow and her athletic ability shows as she rebounds well against taller players but her ability to create along with that step back is still in my head
Adeola Badmos (Champaign Central HS) 5’7 PG- one of those players that just can make things happen and she enables herself to get open a number of ways to let it fly and from all over the floor yet she can also hit her teammates with pinpoint passes over and over
2019
Cailyn Stacker (Parkway North/ STL Phenom Gold) 5’6 guard- love guards that can mix it up and boy could Cailyn, well stack it up as she , sees the floor but can also take defenders off the dribble and that step back was nice, I mean really but what was even nicer as she consistent
2020
Cori O’Neill (Pacific Players First) 6’3 forward- when you have size and can do multiple things away from the paint that is something to work with and Neil can put it on the floor and attack with a variety of moves plus she can create her shot, at 63 and shoot the mid to long range
Chanice Wills (Aristocrats) 5’7 guard- very athletic is an understatement, never takes a play off and just brings so much energy. She went coast to coast after rebound numerous times and showed she could shoot it nicely
Alana Hinson (St Clair/Players First) 6’0 guard-mobile and agile is always good at this age and with her size because it enables her to do a number of things, which she does but what stood out even more was reading the defense, playing the passing lane and scoring
Tyia Treleaven (Aristocrats) 5’3 PG- reminds me of that Energizer bunny commercial because she comes at you and when you don’t mind being physical, on both ends, that shows you can take and apply pressure and her defense was among the best as she was an and one waiting to happen on the other end
Nia Hunt- 5’7 guard- strong is saying it mildly as she can make things happen in the paint, sort of a throwback as she understands positioning and even showed a drop step numerous times which took me back to the old days
Aaliyah Scott (Jennings/ Players First) 5’2 PG- she’s one of those “size don’t matter” players simply because she gets it and she gets after it and by that I mean she goes hard every play. I love how she anticipates on defense plus she has a nice midrange game
Azaria Hulbert (Francis Howell/Players First) 5’6 PG – talented, heady and just makes things happen when she has the ball. When you comprehend certain things, that’s a plus as she grasped the skill portion well and her athletic ability enables her to finish strong over and over
Jaeda Whitner (Mason City/North Iowa Fire) 5’5 guard- athletic and gets to the rim with ease and grasped the skill set portion nicely. Good defender, showed she could create her shot in traffic
SKYLER GIL defending KARLEY JOHNSON
2021
Se’Quoia Allmond (Whitehaven) 5’9 guard- when you impress me before an event starts, well that usually sets the tone and I guess hi-fidelity works because she does a lot of everything quite well. Mid to long range, handles ball under pressure in a dazzling manner, sees the court but plays the passing lane as close to perfect as I’ve seen. The coolest thing is she still has upside
Skyler Gill (War Eagles) 5’9 guard- the more I watched the more I was impressed simply because she is one of those players that will not be outworked, she battles for everything and her timing is pretty impressive in itself as she has a knack for blocking shots and rebounding against taller opponents but she finishes strong and can face the basket and score
Cherish Henderson (Holy Angels/MN) 5’4 PG- mad handles enable her to get out of jams as she makes things happen for herself and teammates. When you talk about range, some of her shot were from Minnesota but she creates nicely to get it off
Aliyah Williams (Missouri Phenoms) 5’3 PG- look first PG because she’s always setting the defense up for the best opportunity so don’t get it confused with pass first because her handle can get her to the basket and that midrange is nice as well but she sees floor very well
Madison Skelton ( St Thomas Aquinas/ Les Chats) 5’8 PG- saw her do things in every aspect, was more than solid in the skill training but when the bright lights came on, her game went to another level. Not only can she shoot, she attacks while gliding to the basket and her ability to not only get there but finish told me a lot
Kali Snow (NW Academy of Law/ Rockets AAU) 6’0 forward- good size and from, she uses both well and gets great positioning for rebounds. Nice moves on the inside plus she can finish with contact
Allyson Brickey (Pacific/Players First) 5’9 guard- she can put it on the floor and finish from various angles but watching her shoot the ball, mid to long range and hitting it with hands in her face is all good plus she’s young and not done
Aija Gwin (Champaign Central/ Illinois Aristocrats) 5’7 guard- some things you just can’t teach, very vocal on the floor is one of them and battling for everything including diving on the floor is another but her athleticism, ability to take defenders off the dribble and mid to long range shooting are all just icing on the cake
2022
Karley Johnson (OK Swish) 5’9 PG- after excelling against fellow middle school players, why not “Just Do It Again” which may not be appropriate after today’s verdict but the verdict was out on this young lady when I saw her last season and it was #D1Lock but I’m going on a limb, well actually I’m not because there is no telling how high she can go. Size, body, comprehension and skills rolled into one, mid to long range, rebounds on both ends and defends
