West Texas Breeze wins 2017 PTN 10th Grade Championship

PLANO, Texas- It seems like every time I catch West Texas Breeze I see a little something different and after catching them back in March to what I see now, several of their players have elevated their games and guess what I love, well I love a lot of thins but progression definitely is one of them. Blakely Gerber is one of those players, you can catch her on the 2017 Prime Time National HS Tip Sheet because her effort was one of the reasons West Texas Breeze won the 10th Grade Division but there were several other reasons including Kaitlyn Edgemon who made one of my earlier Tip Sheets and continuing to show me I was on the money with my assessment.

This young lady does something else I love to see and that’s play the passing lane and Edgemon does it so well that no signal is needed for her to switch over. Her ability to take defenders off the dribble and finish with contact keeps getting better but as I stated earlier the squad all around is just better and Ashlyn Caddel and Paige Low definitely made some things happen while Halie Kleman’s play down the stretch helped seal the championship

You want range; Taysha Rushton has that and handles the ball under pressure while Carolina Cognasi just brought it on both ends. Lauren Catherman was huge, she creates and handles ball under pressure while finding ways to get to the basket over and over was something to see. Cambrie Heiman definitely was a factor coming up with huge rebounds throughout the tournament but not were larger than on Championship Sunday as she fought for everything but when you speak of battling, Jordyn Aragon was in the mix diving for loose balls and rebounding on both ends as well
