Texas Nation Black #TJShowcase
ROUND ROCK, Texas- Texas Nation brought multiple teams with talented players and their Black team definitely lived up to their billing. Kansas Watts is a young lady I’ve been watching for what seems like forever, she’s strong and finishes stronger on the inside but I love how that midrange game has come along and on top of all of that, she defends and rebounds. University of Texas commit Shae Routt has been on my radar forever, well since the 6th grade when I think I told her mom, a former Texas player herself, that she was definitely a D1 lock back then but Shae has exceeded my expectations by becoming a player that could face the basket and score, defend on the wing and perimeter. First look at Desiree Lewis and she left a lasting impression, great battler inside, finishes with either hand, with contact and that athleticism and “ups” definitely are special as she elevates over taller players. Charlene Mass considers to bring more to the table, that pull-up in traffic is one of the best in state but more importantly it goes in frequently and speaking of pulling up, well Brooklyn Mitchell sold me as she was heading to the 8th grade and she’s on the Tip Sheet
CHARLENE MASS
Stephanie Soares in 6’6 and definitely shows signs of being a terror. She alters shots or just blocks them, she rebounds on both ends and has great hands and with that size, hard to handle in the paint as she finishes well. Heaven Mbaruk is long and athletic, defends baseline to baseline, rebounds and dives for loose balls. Imani Winbush-Gay is also athletic and with her speed and energy, she makes things happen on both ends and she she brings it every play. The duo of Ashley Adasczczy and Destiny Jenkins are also a couple of players I’ve been watching since the 7th grade, both are small but very talented guards. Adasczczy has always been able to shoot the long ball, Jenkins creates and knocks down the midrange but both complement each other when they’re on the court together as they find ways to alternate between the one and two spots and definitely get the job done. Tiffany McGarity plays on one of their other teams and she joins Mitchell on Tip Sheet
