2017 Marchfest Under The Radar Tip Sheet
REAGAN HEUN (TX ELITE GATA)
MANSFIELD, Texas-That ever so true statement I have pinned on my Twitter page “It’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” certainly was true for many players who had a chance to showcase what they could do against some of the top players in their respective classes and the GPR Under The Radar group held their own and then some. The one thing I always talk about among players I evaluate is progression and upside and some of these players like D’Asia Collins I get to see multiple times throughout the season while the others I see at various times during the season and let me say this, was more than pleased at what I saw from this talented group that played on center stage at the Mansfield Fieldhouse
2018
D’Asia Collins –PG (TX Elite GATA) what can I say about the season this young lady came off of, helped lead her team to the state championship and simply went off at March Fest. First of all, she knows how to control tempo and run a team, check opening sentence but she also has the ability to score when needed. High BB-IQ and loves to defend and although #sizedontmatter, you can’t teach heart which she definitely has
Jordan Ott-G (Cy Fair Premier Blue) knocking down the mid and long range shot is something this young lady has been doing since I saw her initially in middle school but she just keeps adding things like rebounding on both ends and defending, inside or on the perimeter and when you’re a big guard that can score from the outside, it also helps when you can put it on the floor and she did that nicely
Reagan Heun-G (TX Elite Gata) all I can say is “that stroke” well it’s definitely not all I can say because Heun has put together quite an offensive arsenal and although she always could shoot the three ball well, she’s doing it from NBA range now. She’s worked on defense, lateral movement has really jumped and she reads plays before they happen which enables her to create multiple problems on both ends
GINGER REECE (CY FAIR 15U NATIONAL)
2019
Ginger Reece-G (Cy Fair 15U National) saw her simply go completely off at Prime Time Nationals while still in MS and I tagged her Ginger “The Beast” Reece simply because she was relentless and just out fought opponents for everything. When I say BEAST, you can believe it, and even though that’s still there, her ability to drain the long ball will add more to her mailbox of colleges recruiting her.
Reagan Montgomery-PG (Cy Fair National 15U) this young lady sold me in the 7th grade, poised under pressure running her squad and able to knock down shots. Now she’s gotten stronger and quicker plus that midrange is looking very, very nice but one thing about her, nothing gets her flustered, she knows how to create for her teammates as well as herself when needed
Jessica Cornelius-PG ( Lady Jets Elite) coming off a sensational season at Skyline and helping them make a run solidified her status as far as one of the top PG’s in TX. Strong body, can take a lick and finish but her ability to catch and shoot from mid to long range as well as defend are all plusses. Did I mention she can a run a team, she can always remember “the game starts at the one”
