Showcase ready #ShowcaseClassic16

2018 Iffy & 2017 Mojo

IFFY & MOJO MBUE

The Showcase Classic hosted by Cy Fair Showcase rolled just how I like it, smoothly along with talented players to keep me busy and when you talk about talent look no further than their multiple teams who participated.

On the 17U squad,  Dezi White sold me when she was in middle school when I called her a D1 lock and you could throw away the key. Iffy and Mojo Mbue have always impressed me with their fight and desire on the defensive end however the offense has come around. Allie Garza has shown she can shoot it and the heat that Keira Polart, Dyna Ammar and Audranna Brown bring just keeps coming at you, I’m talking about both ends. Amaya Bickham has shown me so many new things but I’m really pleased with the progression of Domonique Mucker who has not only added a variety of ways to put the ball in the basket, her poise on the court, especially under pressure has her super ready for this month

On the 16U squad, Paige Taylor just found ways to stand out game after game and she and Sydni Brown basically controlled the paint. The athleticism Sheila Nicholas brought baseline to baseline made plenty of things happen but a variety of players like Cath Peters, Kaleb Williams and the Van Campen sisters, Harmony and Delilah, all seemed to make things happen but I’ve seen that from them as well as Gabrielle Hurst and Tashauna Lockhart throughout the season

2020 Fatou Samb

FATOU SAMB

The 15U squad has some legitimate “stars of the future,” Fatou Samb has beastlike potential and at 6’3, I guess now I have your attention, she, along with Maali LaFrance and Kiera Andrus, are about to get upgraded on my “no agendas” GPR Scouting Service as they’re helping make 2020 brighter and brighter. A player I’ve watched for what seems like forever is Kaley Perkins who has had another growth spurt and is draining shots from everywhere plus she’s doing it playing up, up and away which is how her stock will continue to rise as she heads to the 8th grade next year. The 2021 Perkins is definitely going to turn some heads while Daria Minnifield turned mine at the Showcase with her “never taking a play off mindset”

It’s a variety of talent on this squad and throughout the organization, I mean Jada Evans an Olivia Anga have been showing me different things over the years while my first looks at Angela Kinney and Aliesha Goodnight, two talented players from Waller, definitely caught my eye. The improvement I see in Ke’Arrah Peters tells me that Hightower will stay have some fight in them as they prepare to make a huge run next season, providing they stay healthy which is something that has hampered them every season
