2016 Showcase Classic Tip Sheet part 2
PAIGE TAYLOR
The talent didn’t stop I the WNBA Division at the 2016 Showcase Classic, did I mention it was their inaugural event, that means the first but it also means that I had a first look at many young ladies who had just entered or about to enter high school either this coming season or sometime in the not so distant future so here we go
2018
Paige Taylor (Showcase 16U) work ethic has always been scary and now a more toned body and physical play in the paint is even scarier on what she’s done in a few months as far as progression. She wants “it” and she shows that when she steps on the court
JADA SHANKLIN
2019
Jada Shanklin (TJ Ford 16U) long and athletic with a stroke. She runs the floor well and has a good concept of various things but she’s one of those players that can be exciting and put up numbers in the flow
Amaya Buchanan (Elevation Dream) doesn’t realize how good she realis which is scary because she’s pretty good now. Elevates on jumper, which is pretty consistent and anticipates well on defense
Chelsea Green ( Vipers) talk about putting team on your back, her Sunday individual performance was simply outstanding as she scored however she wanted but also understood clock management which is sometimes a lost art
MORGAN LIVESAY
2020
Morgan Livesay (Showcase 14U) didn’t realize she could do as much as she could, yeah I saw her drop some deep threes on day one but day two she split defenders, crossed another and went behind her back for two and never broke stride, very impressive
Fatoub Samb (Showcase 15U) love her upside, she’s close to 6’3 or taller I imagine, strong body and coordinated but also fluid with her shot. She created some problems and I see many more coming throughout her career. She has the tools to be dominate
Madison Garrett (Clutch City Hoopstar) ultra-athletic player that is something to see in the open court right now so I can only imagine how good she’ll end up being. Attacks from a variety of angles and just makes things happen
2021
Victoria Miller (Alief Clovers) size don’t matter if you can play and she definitely can do that. Outside, mid or long range, or taking her man to the basket, she finds ways to score. Sees the floor well and her BB-IQ is ahead of the game
