2016 Prime Time June 11/12
SAMANTHA WASHBURN
HOUSTON, Texas-I stress over and over that talent is definitely everywhere and one of my main focuses is finding players that can play at the various next levels in college. At this week’s Prime Time event held at MI-3, which I didn’t get a chance to catch, as well as The Zone, where I started out on Saturday and Texas Tornado where I finished up Saturday and closed out Sunday, I saw many new players that can play ball somewhere in college. If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram as well as Facebook all under GIRLZ PREP REPORT, you’ll get a chance to see many names that aren’t on the Tip Sheet that stood out as well. I truly appreciate those teams that sent in their rosters in in a timely manner, it’s kind of hard to write about someone if you don’t know who they are but here are the players and please follow my BLOG and if you miss something either here or on the blog, you can use the search bar to pull up old information
2017
Tamia Jenkins (Texas Inferno) caught her for a few minutes at the end of the day, super athleticism as she simply elevates over defenders, gets to the rim for baskets with ease, defends and rebounds plus plays the passing lane
2018
Ariel Beard (LR3 Comets) put on an offensive clinic on opening day, long range, midrange and inside the paint. She uses body and size effectively and when she’s on, she definitely is hard to handle
Jennifer Reese (AGA) long and athletic anticipates the passes and scores with contact. Defends baseline to baseline, good ball handler under pressure and is something to see in the open court
Meredith Miesch (365) talented guard that was on her way to a super offensive day before going out with an minor injury. Smooth stroke from outside, poised under pressure, definitely needs another look
Samantha Washburn (Swag Elite) their other team impressed me a week ago and this one left a lasting impression as well. Washburn knows how to put the ball in the basket and what sold me was a crossover and thenbehind the back, all in one motion for two
KENNEDY YOUNGBLOOD
2019
Kennedy Youngblood (Victoria Queens) when I see pink Jordans on a player,, I’m going to look when the player looks like a PLAYA, I’m going to talk. I tweeted she was an ’18, she’s a ’19 and her upside is huge. She does so much effortlessly on both ends that it’s scary how good she can be
2020
Maddie Morris (365 Elite Red) talk about finding ways to score, she knows how to do just that quickly. Good range, long and mid and knows how to attack from very angle. Her ability to create under pressure is a very good sign
Jackie Gibbs (GTE) powerful on the inside, rebounded well on both ends and won’t back down against taller players. Also showed she could face the basket and score as well as take defenders from the wing
Emily Edwards (Cy Fair Heat) heady guard that loves pressure, taking and applying and her ability to think through certain things at this stage is definitely a positive. Scored so many ways I just smiled but also knows how to get teammates involved
Audrey Andrews (Honey Badgers) watching this young lady just glide through the air early on Saturday had me wondering what HS she played for and even though she hasn’t played there yet, her presence will be felt early. Long and midrange on point, many weapons on the offensive ends
Emily Blackman (Houston Elite) hard to believe she’s this young doing what she’s doing. High energy, never takes a playoff and loves to defend but that first step lets her get wherever she needs to be, either attacking or hitting the jumper, she can go
KAIDANCE GLENN
2021
Kaidance Glenn (Dynasty) showed me even more than last time but this young lady loves to compete. Her athleticism enables her to take defenders with ease, she has a nice pull-up and she plays the passing lane but on top of all that, she does things instinctively and once she actually figures everything out, she could be a top 100 player
Glenda Chatman (Houston Lady Roadrunners) saw a dab on video which didn’t do her justice. I knew she could shoot the three but she creates her own shot extremely well at this age and on top of all that, not only is she willing to take the shot under pressure, she wants to take it
2022
Mackenzie Joseph (GTE) peep this, she has better hands and footwork than some players that have gone to college and played yet she’s only heading to the 7th grade. If she grows, she could be a dominate force on the inside, well she did just that over the weekend
