TWELVE keeps rolling

2015 TWELVE

HOUSTON, Texas- It’s amazing how time flies and the killing part about is that it seems like only yesterday when I first met many of the young stars playing for TWELVE. The team is basically from the Bryan/College Station area and many of the young stars I saw running around Reed Arena when my daughter played at Texas A&M, I imagine Precious Daily and her cousin Cornecia “Sissy” Thompson were about five at the time and to be honest, I didn’t even realize many of them played basketball until I caught the team last season but I have truly been pleased with what I’ve seen. With me, it’s all about progression and I’ll start with the older squad because many have simply taken their games up to another level. The biggest jump probably has been Alexis King who is a legitimate offensive threat while her cousin Francis King has also made leaps and bounds, especially with her aggressiveness to go along with a variety of ways to the ball in the basket. Rebekah Hailey does a little of everything, she has range and can to the rim and finish and makes the right decisions. Zaria Richards brings so much heat on both ends; I sweat on the sidelines while Kasey Jo Hinton keeps showing me can the job done in the paint on both ends. Sierra Reismeier and the Hawkins sisters, Gracie and Hannah, all showed me that could score and I mean while being defended but on the flip, Darby Hurley and Khyjian Thomas were definitely X factors coming up big defensively time and time again. This was my first look at the older team since last season and it was definitely a good one

2015 TWELVE babies

This was my third time seeing the younger team this season, I’ve already mentioned Precious and Sissy and in case you don’t follow me like you should, I’ve already said they’re a couple of the top 2021 players in Texas and the jump Cameron Richards and Ava Pointer have made in a few weeks has me smiling about 2022. Talk about jumps, Naylayjah “Nay Nay” Johnson and Keundra Kelly both were definitely in the mix this past weekend, Johnson finished strong with both hands while Kelly showed me some physicality on the boards.  Olivia Fox wasn’t on hand this weekend but she along with Avery Seagraves, Mara Johnston and Hart Ray all have come up huge this season in key victories for this talented squad and I certainly see that both teams have been putting in the work. Jessica Ransom is one of the top defenders in her class, she simply gets after it and doesn’t mine diving for loose balls while Sha’Dimon King has been Queen in several of their victories with clutch baskets and (or) rebounds time after time. I’m speechless at what I’ve seen from Payton Dindot, she gives them yet another legitimate scorer from multiple spots on the court. Daily has been out for bit but she will be back in July and when she’s healthy, both TWELVE squads will be ready for WHATEVER
