#4040JohnLucas Area Tip Sheet

2017 Treazure Mouton 4040

Treazure Mouton (white jersey)

THE WOODLANDS, Texas- The John Lucas 40/40 Combine was simply an event I enjoyed once again because when you have the type of talented players that were on hand, you better be paying attention, especially to the ones in your own back yard.  As promised, here’s a Tip Sheet on the local players, keep in mind I’ve already dropped the Fab 4 2016 guards on my blog

2015

Amaya Jackson-5’7 guard (Manvel HS)- Jackson’s ability to shoot the  long ball has never been an issue but she continues to add more variety to her offensive game. The biggest jump I’m seeing now is her ability to see the floor and make plays

Tiffany Valentine-6’0 post (Lutheran North)-Be mine Valentine is what the colleges should, you don’t find this type of power all of the time. Great footwork and a mindset that she can’t be stopped in the paint ties into her huge upside

Shania Woods-6’1 wing/post (Lutheran North)-Woods and Valentine won’t leave too many rebounds for opponents and with Shania’s length and ability to attack from the wing, Lutheran North has two key pieces for their run

Kimberly Carter-5’7 guard (Barbers Hill)- Carter’s game was always well rounded but from what I’m seeing now is that she’s ready and wants to be the one that takes “the shot” in tight situations. That along with her desire to head back to state will make Barbers Hill a contender

Kenya Miles-5’8 guard (Tomball Memorial)- I just love watching players that play hard on both ends and although Miles might not put up numbers, she finds ways to make her presence felt. What I noticed was a relentless desire to defend on ball

2016

Asia Woods-5’10 forward (Lutheran North) –The trifecta is complete as younger sister teams up and the dimension Asia will add for Lutheran North is she can score facing the basket and will create some match-up problems

2017

Tasharian Robinson-5’10 guard (Clear Springs)- I’ve liked this young lady since the sixth grade and when you see the desire that she puts out defensively on every possession, well that’s huge. Her athleticism is through the roof and her offense has taken another turn as she can score off the dribble or from the outside

Treazure Mouton- 5’7 guard (Hightower)- I’ve called her “Hideen Treazure” for too long because she’s on the verge of striking gold. Smooth and silky on offense yet a terror on the other end, Mouton keeps turning corners in a big way and that first step is a killa

Karrington Donald-5’7 guard (Humble)- I couldn’t believe she was in the seventh grade when I first saw her for the first time because she was playing three years up and was more poised than some of the seniors. Good scorer and defender and can get to the basket at will

2018 Alyce Fields 4040

Alyce Fields

2018

Alyce Fields- 6’2 forward (Klein Oaks)- If I gave a “Most Improved Award” from over the summer until now, Fields would definitely be on the short list but at 6’2, I knew she would get better because she had time and was willing to work. That work is paying off, she doesn’t bangin in the paint and is running the floor very well plus she’s rebounding and finishing with contact

2019

Jesse Esclovan-5’8 forward (Lumberton MS)-Esclovan was one of the youngest players here and being under this type of setting may overwhelm some that aren’t accustomed to being in the heat however she brought her own air. Did well in the skills and wouldn’t back down in game situation, work ethic means huge upside
