’24 All Eyez On Me 2028 Standouts

What a solid group heading into high school. A’Kira Whitmore is also a 2028, she was initially signed up for Session 1, she’s the cover photo, before we combined everything but she left a lasting first impression as did many of the others

Please note I am a Regional Scout for Prep Girls Hoops and the PGH Texas Freshman Showcase will be held September 1st in Carrolton TX, you can register here

Lily Rich-5’5 CG (Legacy Ranch) gave me an eyeful early as she played under control and made good decisions. Her court vision was solid in the set, but she also showed a deceptive first step to attack the basket and score. She’s an athletic guard who used her athleticism on both ends and her “on the ball” pressure helped to create turnovers

Nylah Crudup-5’10 W (Bridgeland) is a “long and athletic” guard which is also the base and the more see her, the more I know she will be on the Top 100 list at some point. She blows by defenders to score off the dribble, nice body control after contact but also drops the jumper with a hand in her face. Her rebounding and timing are both solid, as well as her “on the ball” defense and playing the passing lane

Danayshia Lewis- 5’8 G (Midway) is also a long and athletic guard with plenty of upside because she goes hard on both ends, reads the floor on both ends and shows she can score off the dribble as well as around the basket with contact. Her court vision was nice as she made tough passes look easy and her baseline-to-baseline pressure was yet another plus

Hadlie Jackson-5’9 G (Vidor) did a good job of keeping the defender off balance by mixing up how she created her shot. Her slight HEZ was nice as it enabled her to get by the defender and score off the dribble yet it also worked to help her create space and get her shot off while being guarded closely. She did a good job defensively both in the set as well as the open court, good upside

Mallory Wright-5’9 W (Anderson) showed a solid skillset across the board and I was immediately impressed by her not only setting the defender up to score off the dribble but using either hand to attack, as well as finish after contact included. She also saw the floor both in the set as well as in the transition but watching her drop the jumper, stop and pop included was nice

Emmalie Brown-5’10 PF (Gholson) is listed as a post but she is showing PF potential starting with her strength inside the paint where she BATTLES for rebounds and scores around the basket, putbacks included. She also showed she could attack from multiple spots and finish as well, again, after contact. What was also nice was her defense, both in and outside the paint

Kamryn Fox-5’9 G (Copperas Cove) has been on my radar for quite some time and as she continues to drop the long ball from deep, you will eventually need radar to know how far she’s nailing it from. Okay, I knew she could shoot the 3 but her scoring as well as passing off the dribble has improved, and so has her timing to block shots along with playing the passing lane but her “on the ball” defense JUST DID IT for me

Grace Dorr-5’6 G (Vandergrift) came out on fire on both ends as she picked some pocked playing “on the ball” defense to score yet she also did a good job setting the defender up in the set to attack and finish using solid body control and after the lick. She’s smooth and confident with the ball, saw the floor, and made good decisions yet her spin move to score left me dizzy

Jewels Johnson-5’5 PG gave me a lot during the 1 on 1 session and nothing changed when the games began. She scored off the dribble and did a good job defending, on the ball in both, but her first step is strong and quick and this got her past the defender several times to score after contact. She also handled the ball and saw the floor under pressure and made good decisions

Rileigh Weiss-5’2 PG (Robinson) showed #sizedontmatter because she could play and she immediately brought “on the ball” pressure during the 1 on 1 drill yet that pressure looked even better during the games as applied it baseline to baseline. She also did a good job of getting hers “in the flow” but she’s heady, saw the floor well, and created her shot but when she dropped the jumper using the step back, I dropped the clipboard

Nadia Camarena-5’5 G (Liberty Hill) showed an impressive first step to attack the basket and nice body control which helped enable her to finish strongly after contact. She also used the HEZ to get the defender off-balance in the set to create separation for her jumper but her court vision in the set as well as in transition was nice, as was her defense
