’22 Simmie Colson Classic Top Performers WNBA Division
Progression, upside, taking games over, I look at a variety of things, please note I’m not a novice yet with so many experts giving opinions and advice across the country, it comes to no surprise that NCAA PORTAL will forever be in quadruple digits based on the OVERSELLING of self-promoters. I use logic and common sense and since I know where the bar was set almost 20 years ago, for me this is easy so who “JUST DID IT” while I was watching
Elizabeth Walton (The Village School) TNBA 17U [2023]
Heady, clutch, yet constantly striving to add more is how I would recall her back in middle school yet it was something about this kid that just stood out when she was playing up, oh yeah, poised on pressure, well that has all elevated as she is not only a “highlight waiting to happen” yet her mid to long-range coupled with her finishing after contact keeps me smiling. Let me also add “she’s one of the best in Texas at creating contact”
Riley McCloskey (Memorial HS) Just Play Elite 17U Gold [2023]
Prototype point-guard almost because she can actually score both off the dribble and drop it from very deep yet I love her court vision and when you can throw it on the money in transition with either hand, that’s huge but her ballhandling under pressure has taken off and that only adds because she understands how to control the tempo
Madelynn Cuff-Infinity Hoops Orange
She scored off the dribble, with a deceptive first step and finished after contact yet her “on the ball defense” was really nice, so was her playing the passing lane which I love to see yet she also did a good job hitting the boards
Olivia Sauvageau (Second Baptist HS) Just Play Elite 15U Gold
Sauvageau has taken her game to another level and when I first saw her I guess 2 or 3 years ago playing in San Antonio, I watched her mannerisms and how focused she was, on both ends yet she has shown she not only can run her team but also fill it up multiple ways by creating her shot under pressure because she can drop the mid to long which opens up her attacking and she sees the floor very well so that’s an added plus
Mila Rossini- TNBA 16U [2024]
Club season has been good for her as she is showing even more and with added confidence, it shows as she doesn’t worry about the traps or physicality, she JUST DOES IT and gets the job done. I enjoy her scoring off the dribble, with either hand and finishing, with either hand yet I also enjoy her BB-IQ and playing within herself because she forces nothing, well other than making the defender defend
Taylor Perkins (Aldine Davis HS) Houston Lady Nets 2024
I love #THROWBACK stuff and watching her BATTLE for the rebound, no matter where it comes off the rim got me going yet she’s filled with “back in the day” stuff like diving on the floor for loose balls but peep this, her rolling off the pick to finish after contact was nice, well so were finishes period as she scored with players literally hanging on her. With a college-ready frame, her upside is pretty good
Alaysia Cook (Bay City HS) Houston Dream [2025]
Bay City is where one of my all-time favorite players, people played, Jhasmin Player (Baylor) from the strongest class out of Houston, 2005, so I was amped just reading that on the roster yet hold on, she gave me, even more, starting with “she’s long and athletic” and I call that the base and we start adding to it, we as in ME. She scores off the dribble, the first step is a monster yet she also can drop it from outside, she creates her shot under pressure yet on the flip, she applies pressure on defense and plays the passing lane yet she rebounds and can go coast to coast to finish, dish or drop the stop and pop
Ava LeBlanc (Cy Falls HS) Houston United Madison [2025]
Scores well off the dribble and can finish or dish going full speed yet her court vision is just good all the way around because she sees the floor in the set as well as in transition. Her pull-up jumper is nice, she plays the passing lane and the defense was solid, nice upside
Rachel Ashby (Stratford HS) Just Play Elite 15U Gold [2025]
Handles the ball well under pressure and her blinding passes through traffic were also nice yet she also scores both off the dribble as well as from outside so she has a good feel for the game, she thinks the game and more importantly, she plays within herself yet she can flip a switch and take over offensively
Ebonie Chatman-Lady Diamonds 15U [2027]
Let me drop this right now, again, I’m not a novice so by me saying she is a #D1Lock is an understatement she is a NATIONAL player, definitely Top 100 and let’s put a link in here since one of those players, Deauzya Richards was also called that by me in the 7th grade. You never would have known how young she was, her frame, her doing things instinctively and how she reacts all play into why I say, what I say but she can score from almost anywhere on the court, her range is close to NBA but her powerful finishes just amazed me. Rebounds, defends, sees the floor and very scary upside
