’22 Simmie Colson Classic “The Shooters” WNBA Division
I love watching players that can fill it up and when I talk about shooters, it’s not just the ones that can drop the long ball or even the midrange because I enjoy players that understand “how to put the ball in the basket” and get their team points, seeing the floor and setting teammates up for gimmes falls into that same group yet I have my own way of thinking, since so many other ways of thinking have just re-revolutionized the game, self promoters and social media, that damn PORTAL has me just bewildered
Abigail Tomaski (Memorial HS) Just Play Elite Gold 17U [2023]
I’ll never forget sitting at Don Coleman arena before their game in the Spring Branch Tournament when her high school coach told me “keep an eye on this kid” and not only was he right, my eyes have stayed on her as I’ve watched her add more than just the long ball. Mid range is nice as well, she creates her shot and gets it off while being defended yet her “off the dribble” finishing with contact makes her an all around offensive threat
Kimora Fagan- Lady Diamonds [2024]
When the first step is devastating, that’s a great start yet I also enjoyed watching her elevating over defenders to finish as well as getting her shot off when ever she wanted. The mid to long-range was nice, she’s long and athletic with nice handles, both hands. and she understands how to set the defender, much of that because of the first step because you can’t guard her too closely
Aminah Dixon (Fort Bend Austin HS) IJU 17U [2025]
Caught her on LIVESTREAM during the playoffs yet that blurry telecast only gave me a glimpse, which is why I like being there in person yet that glimpse was enough for me to know she had some skills but OMG, she definitely left a lasting impression, she attacks with either hand and finishes the same way, with both hands, after contact but that stop and pop jumper in transition is very nice, so is her creating her shot in the set, mid to long-range
Celina Valeriano (Morton Ranch HS) Uptempo Sports [2024]
Her club coach gave me a rundown on his squad, his evals are always on point, yet trying to run her down was a problem for defenders as she’s tricky with the ball and gets the defender to lean yet she’s powerful off the dribble and finishes strongly after contact, picture above gives you a glimpse, yet coming off the screen or just showing she could drop it in transition, she understands how to score and from when and where
Sariah Fuentes (Summer Creek HS) Houston Lady Nets 2024 [2025]
Put on one of the best shooting performances I witnessed, it a tough game and in the clutch, “it’s not what you do, it’s who you do it against” but her understanding how to get her shot off just had me going, Range is unlimited, release is quick, shot is fluid and she also has a nice handle where she can add the midrange or simply attack and (or) dish off the dribble
Sydney Barras (Summer Creek HS) Houston Lady Nets 2025
Last name might synonymous with barrage because that’s how many jumpers she dropped every time I looked up, well even when I looked down as I was picking my pen she dropped one but she elevates within the defender on her, I love that and she’s also long and athletic, that’s the base I keep telling you about so with that , her upside is definitely looking good
Draden Moss (Spring Branch MS) Just Play Elite Gold 15U [2026]
I’m going on record as saying she’s going to enter high school as one of the top shooters in Texas 2026 but you know what, she might be in the whole state and here’s why. She too fits that “long and athletic” profile yet her just standing there and dropping the jumper in the set, while being defended is something because she doesn’t get flustered or rattled, release is quick and buckets are constantly dropping
