’21 Shanna Petty expands her game
Shanna Petty is a prime example of what hard work will do and I remember the first time James Daniel (Houston Insiders) told me about this 5th grader that was coming to tryouts, I definitely had to be there, Daniel and I coached together for years and he was responsible for countless players that didn’t have anything on the table play at the next level and he also helped put my daughter on center stage early but Petty was one that he just knew would be a player and ladies and gentlemen, he was right because not only is she one of the best defensive players in the state of Texas, she has worked on her jumper, she can knock down the mid to long-range consistently as well as take defenders off the dribble
Petty also has very good body control, be it hanging in the air to let defenders go by on her jumper or attacking the basket and finishing after contact while defying gravity yet she doesn’t stop applying that heat on either end, that’s also something you can’t teach and at 5’10, she has learned to play multiple positions and at times in high school, she has played all 5 but her rebounding over those over “the magic number” of 6’0 and taking off going coast to coast explains why she’s starting the season off averaging a double-double and coming off a 22 point outburst on Friday tells me she will be a threat all season, video coming
