’21 Queens Of The Hardwood-2023 Tip Sheet

MACI QUILLER

Mariah Dotson-5’1 G (SA Lady Hoops Black) showed off a nice mix of handling the ball, seeing the floor, and creating her shot, all under pressure, and guess what else, she played the passing lane

Mercedes Perez-5’7 G (SA Lady Hoops Black) her focus, wait just watch her eyes yet don’t because she has the “no look” working yet that pull-up, mid to long-range and attacking and finishing was clicking

Zanyra Adams-5’7 G (SA Lady Hoops Black) okay she’s athletic, I got that yet she was dropping turnaround jumpers with ease in the paint, not to leave out battling on the boards and defending

Madison Guzman-5’4 G (SA Lady Vipers) her COP, change of pace, was on fire as she created off that as well as other ways but getting the defense off-balance is always good and she attacked and finished, through blazing passes on the money and her ENTRY passes were very nice

Maci Quiller-5’10 SF (Austin Elite RFW) why she isn’t in my database is beyond me yet she ain’t going nowhere but up, oh yeah, she has UPS, she’s athletic, finishes after contact, snags rebounds can handle the ball and an abundance of potential

Avari Berry-5’6 PG (Austin Elite RFW) smooth and polished plus under control and an explosive score is a short version yet her poise captured my attention 3 years ago, that what the search bar is for and with her range, court vision as well as being vocal on te floor…..

Tabitha Johnson-6’3 P (DC Queens Centex) I love her agility as she continues to show she’s more than a back-to-the-basket player. She attacking from the wings, shooting the mid-to long-range and finishing with BOTH hands, oh yeah, she’s rebounding on both ends

Asia Prudhomme (DC Queens SA) goes hard from start to finish, her attacking of the basket with power is a pleasure to see, she’s under control and she finishes with contact yet she can stop on a dime a hit the short jumper, she applies pressure on defense and she rebounds

Deo’ Shanay Henderson-5’11 (Texas Elite Lady Force) ultra-athletic with UPS, need I say more, how about she can rebound, handle the ball coast to coast and finish so adding she shoots the midrange probably helps paint a picture

Sydney Colleoni-5’7 G (Player 1st Basketball 16U National) her initials SC and she can drop both the 2 or the 3 and she’s always played within herself, understood how to get hers in the flow and she’s just consistently finding ways to contribute

Britzeida Sanchez-5’3 G (Mamba Select) creates her shot under pressure and showed she could attack and finish as well as hit the outside jumper, mid to long-range

YESSIKA GARZA

Yessika Garza-5’6 G (SA Lady Hoops Platinum) I had her down for HM until I saw a picture I took and I had a flashback as she not only cashed the boards and played the passing lane, she created her shot under pressure and knocked it down, let me not forget her defense, it was pretty good

Lauren Ethridge-5’9 F (SA Islanders) I wrote “plays taller” and to the novice looking at my notes, they would be guessing but it’s simple, she outrebounds taller players, she defends well against taller players and she finished against taller players

Ella Ortiz-5’5 G (STX Skillz U) she’s crafty with the ball, knows how to get defenders to lean, and seeing go baseline over and over had me scratching my head, especially after a couple of reverse lay-ups yet just for fun, she dropped the long ball for me multiple times

Isabela Perez-5’2 G (SA Infinity Basketball Green) creates her shot and knocks it down from deep with a nice and fluid release but she also showed she could handle the ball and control the tempo, that and see the floor

Brooke Sandercock-5’8 SF (SA Infinity Basketball Green) rebounds and understanding positioning is one of the reasons she did it over and over against taller players, yet she also rebounds and finishes on putbacks. Her ballhandling is solid, she went C2C for baskets a few times and she came up with steals

Anissa Mata-5’8 G (SA Lady Hoops Platinum) she’s really shooting the ball well, I mean every tournament I catch her in she’s creating her shot and dropping it from mid to long but this time around, she was doing it in transition and the “stop and pop” was clicking

Natasha Stafford-5’10 PF (Lady Pro Skills Austin 17U) she just overpower smaller players, well larger ones too and her desire to go after everything off the rim as well as finishing after contact always stands out, so does her defense

Sydney Dede-5’9 G (SA Lady Hoops Platinum) one of toughest players in Texas, she plays through pain and just goes so hard on both defense and rebounding that her ballhandling and seeing the floor are not mentioned enough but that, as well as her attacking and dropping jumpers are all there

Daviyanna Jones-5’10 F (SA Lady Hoops Platinum) DJ was spinning tunes before dropped the mic and let me also add, that jumper on the pull-up looked really, really good, so did her attacking and finishing after contact. Wait, she played the passing lane as well
