’21 Prime Time 7TH Grade DivisionTip Sheet #NBC21
Opening day was busy as I caught a whole lot of talented players from 6th-8th Grade Divisions so here are some of the standouts I saw personally in the 7th-grade group, I’m sure I missed some, talent is everywhere so here ya go
Lynden Smith (Texas Made) did a good job taking the defender off the dribble to score but she also handled the ball under pressure and saw the floor, also under pressure
Makalan Foster (SETX Cy-Fair Elite) plays the passing lane very well and understands how to use her athleticism but she also attacks the basket strongly and finishes as well as showing a nice pull-up jumper, very good upside
Ally Dodd (True Texas Hoops 2026) creates her shot nicely while being defended and mixes it up nicely on either driving or taking the jumper which she can shoot, this includes from long-range
Norah Layman (True Texas Hoops 2026) heady PG’s are always going to be in the mix, especially when they understand how to run a team and in LAYMAN’s term, pun intended, she can definitely do that as she controls the tempo, sees the floor and handles the ball under pressure, plus she can score
Destiny Blunt (Shooters United 26/27) long and athletic, I call that the base and it is because college coaches love that profile so she attacks and finishes strongly and plays the passing lane, good upside
Averi Sanson (AGA Siggers) plays the passing which is one thing that drives me crazy when players don’t do it yet she does it quite well and she’s athletic and did a good job attacking and finishing
Olivia Eltz (LOJO 2025 Elite) uses her size and body well around the basket, nice hands and footwork definitely played a part but she also finishes, this includes on putbacks as she rebounds on both ends
Peyton Novicke (LOJO 2025 Elite) finishes strong around the rim yet also showed she could score by attacking the rim. Rebounded strongly on both ends, keeps the ball high, throws the outlet, and runs the floor
Deveah Johnson (Amarillo Lady Blue Devils) attacks well off the dribble, whoa, she too is long and athletic and her defense was solid, so was her playing the passing lane and her upside is pretty high
Sophia Rodriguez (Houston United 2026 Blue) smoothly getting it done and the midrange shooting exhibition she opened the event with spoke volumes as she looks for the best shot yet she also scored off the dribble after contact
Kamden Flora (Houston United 2026 Blue) playing up and showing signs of up, up ad away, her long ball was smoking to start the event off yet her release and elevating on her jumper just left me somewhat speechless as the progression continues
Journee Hampton (Louisiana UA Future National 2026) long and athletic, still the base and she crosses many because of her timing to block, alter, deflect, rebounds on both ends, scores effortlessly around the rim, and plays the passing lane #D1Lock
Kyndal Graham (Louisiana UA Future National 2026) is one of the top PG’s I’ve seen in her class, she is so smooth under pressure and delivers either by making the right pass or hitting the big shot but her ballhandling is something, so is her court vision and that mid to long-range jumper, yes, yes and yes
Addison Martin (Lady Hustle) attacks the rim strongly, finishes with good body control, this includes after contact, and already understands how to create her shot plus her defense is smothering, good upside
Erika Hancock (DFW Hawks 2026 King) uses her body well inside the paint, understands positioning to get rebounds, on both ends, and also did a good job defending inside the paint plus she finishes strongly
Jadyn Middleton (Pro Skills Select Butler) long and athletic was abundant in this group and again, that’s a great foundation, especially when you have a deceptive first step, she does and uses it well to attack and finish
Daniya Souter (Prodigy) created her shot and showed she could knock it down, mid to long-range but she also showed she could “catch and shoot” with accuracy so that, as well as attacking the rim were nice
Brittney Anderson (Just Play 2026) athletic guard with UPS and watching her soar over players standing around “the magic number” which is 6’0, to rebound was nice but her pull-up jumper is equally nice, so is her attacking and finishing as well as defending
Haylie Panter (Just Play 2026) sets the defender up very nicely and because of a solid first step to get by the defender, they tend to give her room yet she uses that room to drop the jumper, mid to long-range
Saania Khawaja (Centex Attack) since I already called her a #D1Lock what else can I say other than she can score in droves multiple ways, off the dribble and finishing after contact, the stop, and pop jumper in transition or the mid to long-range in the set, she can fill it up
