’21 Next 100 Killeen MS Tip Sheet (2027-30)
Let me tell you something, as intrigued as I was with the other classes and the talent, the babies sent a message and they always do, if you know how to receive and with gazillion experts out there that are clueless when I tell you something is going to happen, just listen and hit me back if it doesn’t
2027
Daniella Williams (Texas Elite) off the dribble with ease is how she scored attacking the rim but she also has quick hands and came up with some steals. Good court vision handles the ball well under pressure
Carlie Petro-5’7 G (Texas Warriors) creates her shot well to attack the basket or take the jumper, both were nice, so was her handling the ball in the open court. She sees the floor and makes the right passes
Saania Khawaja-5’6 G (Centex Attack) no notes taken other than mental because I already knew and for me, it starts with so many things like poise under pressure, she doesn’t crack and she delivers either on the jumper, attacking or assisting
Sidnee Williams-5’3 G (Centex United) did a good job of setting defenders up and showed she could take them with either hand and finish with either hand but her jumper with a hand in her face was nice as well
Maddison Webb-5’3 G (Texas Elite) her ability to get to the basket either in the set or open court was nice as she finishes strongly after contact, she also did a good job on defense
Morgan Riggs-5’2 G sets defender up nicely with a deceptive first step to attack the basket yet she also uses that first step to keep them guessing which enabled her to drop the jumper
Amierah Moore-5’6 G (CE Elite) her nickname is CHAMP and rightfully so as her upside is scary because she’s so good right now. The pull-up in transition, the handling of the ball to attack the basket, her body control to finish acrobatically and she plays the passing lane
Victoria Walton-5’2 G (TNBA) her progression shows every time I see her and watching her play within herself and get hers in the flow is always nice yet she’s starting to just take over the game in crunch time” and when you have a jumper like hers, as well as score off the dribble, she’s bringing IT
Jyra Gray-5’0 PG (Dream United) COP is my acronym for change of pace yet call the law because she gets steals galore playing the passing lane which leads to baskets, so does her attacking the basket and finishing strongly after contact but the pull-up is smooth as well
Danica Williams (Texas Elite) constantly showed she could take the defender to the rim while being guarded and her finishes after contact was very nice, so was her jumper and defense
SerenahColeman-5’1 PG (Team Denton) creates her shot very well and that pull-up was something yet she also attacks the basket strongly and sees the floor which gave her options to dish or keep it and score
Zhi’Yuan Harris-5’1 PG (Texas Elite) youngstas dropping the “floata” smoothly are becoming prevalent and she is doing it very well but her ballhandling is very good as she attacks and finishes, she also sees the floor well
Ileiah Morgan-5’4 G (Team Denton) is athletic, attacks the rim well, and finishes but she also played solid defense and rebounded on both ends of the court from the guard spot but her upside is really good because she’s heady and plays within herself
Ibre’l Morgan-5’0 G (Team Denton) athletic, showed she could defend “on the ball” baseline to baseline yet she also did a good job handling the ball under pressure to attack or make some solid passes
Molly Frazier-5’3 G (Texas Elite) her release is quick and she creates her shot nicely for the pull-up in the set yet she also can drop the stop and pop in transition but she also attacks the basket strongly and finishes the same way
2028
Kamryn Fox-5’6 G (Texas Elite) the stutter has always been one of my favorites, it’s an option that can create problems for the defender to stay with you and she does it well to attack the rim and finish strongly after contact
Courtney Simpson-4’11 G (AD Elite) has good upside because she has poise, under pressure, and understands how to create her shot the same way, under pressure but those fakes to get the defender leaning were nice as she attacks the rim smoothly
Madelyn Ahern-5’0 G (Texas Elite) she plays solid defense and enjoys it, either halfcourt or baseline to baseline but she also does a good job handling the ball to attack the basket and finish, plus sees the floor
Amira Harrison-4’5 PG (OK Aces) saw her last season and her mannerisms just had me glued, she is poised yet intense and has upside galore because she understands the game, drops the jumper, handles the ball, and sees the floor, against OLDER players, and doesn’t care who’s on her, she’s coming
Justice Woods-5’2 PG (Lions Elite) pull-up jumper in the half-court, stop and pop in transition, attacking and finishing with either hand, plays the passing lane, is heady and understand how to control the temp, sees the floor, and plays defense, which includes playing the passing lane, all I can say is be ready
2029
Peini Jang-5’10 G didn’t look at the roster until later but let me say this, she has the HEZ down pat, that’s hesitation, and it is going to give her numerous options as she gets older. She gets to the rim and showed the jumper
Kaitlyn Urquidez-5’5 P (Texas Elite) not only attacks well in the set, but she also did a good job creating her shot and seeing the floor yet watching her rebound against taller, older players by understanding how to get positioning was huge
Maleah Mason-4’10 PG (Lady Road Runners) her intensity just amazes me because she’s young and she “wants” it and she went for a steal and missed it and I saw “the look” and knew what was coming as she got right back in it and came up with the steal the next time but she also has “no ceiling” on how good she’s going to be because of her age and doing what she’s doing against older players, like creating her shot and taking them off the dribble
