’21 Next 100 Killeen MS Tip Sheet (2026)
There is always a rhyme to a reason why I do things and as I try and explain to parents and players, no one knows more about this regarding things of relevance than I do. My daughter had over 100 D1 offers, over a dozed before her first high school game, won a National Championship at Texas A&M, and played 8 or 9 years in the WNBA so I know politics, I know petty adults in power, but more importantly, I know talent and every player I have said was a #D1Lock or would play at the next level, has done just that and I have been out here 20 years, writing and evaluating over a decade. Another thing I do is the rankings for Prep Girls Hoops-Texas, I’m not big on numbers besides names, the only numbers YOU need to be concerned about are the number of college coaches offering you a chance to play for their PROGRAM, that’s it, so don’t get caught up in the nonsense from the simple-minded, I’m simply giving you logic in an illogical setting so I’m separating 2026 because this is their last season before HS and I need to see who will be on the 2026 Watch List for PGH so here we go
Nyla Underwood-5’9 F (Austin Elite) every time I see her, one thing I always observe, she shows me something different but let’s start with she’s “long and athletic” that’s the base, she plays the passing lane. a huge plus, scores off the dribble showing a nice first step and her upside is SCARY
Taylor Hicks-5’11 PF (CE Elite) if you understand this “her ceiling has no roof” you get it but she can play all 5 positions, well, right now yet her power and ability to overpower and punish on the inside is nice, but her of touch, handling the ball, seeing the floor and rebounding all get pluses
Salena Carrasco-5’7 PG (Lady Jets) her initials are SC, when I first saw her I told her big things were coming her away, as in the opening paragraph, “I AIN’T BEEN WRONG YET” nor will I be this times as she creates the mid to long-range so smoothly, effortlessly attacks and finishes with good body control and still isn’t done
Arianna Davis-5’6 G (SA Finest) I wrote UPS like “and away” so elevating off the ground is really good, so is her explosive first step to take defenders off the dribble but her pull-up jumper in transition is really nice, so is her ability and desire to rebound, on both ends
Delaney Arredondo-5’5 (SA Finest) I called her a what when I first saw her, #D1Lock and after the event, throw away the key as she’s heady and understands two huge things, how to score multiple ways and how to make those around her better yet her passes on the money for gimmes are just as exciting as acrobatic finishes
Heaven Britton-5’5 G (Hines D1) I love #THROWBACK stuff and when you find players that “get after it” and don’t mind playing “on the ball defense” baseline to baseline, that’s big and yes, her defense is smothering but she also does a good job with the pull-up jumper in traffic
Kamil Ajose-5’0 G (YLB)– her ability to attack the rim while being defended was nice but her hanging in the air, scoring off balance to me back to yesteryear but she handles the ball under pressure and also showed she could drop the jumper the same way, under pressure
Tierney Perkins-5’1 PG (Travis) when you understand the simple things that can be huge, like scoring in the flow and playing within yourself, you’re ahead but she also mixed up to attack off the dribble with either hand and finish strongly after contact, good upside
Sarah Brown-5’5 G– impressed me doing drills with her quick release and nothing changed during games as she created her shot to score off the dribble or drop the jumper, plus her “catch and shoot” was nice
Simone Pryor-5’2 PG (Lady Hoops) not sure if she’s related to Richard but she had me on the edge of my seat because she handles the ball very well under pressure and her COP, change of pace, dazzled me as much as her acrobatic finishes but that jumper, good hands-on D for steals and going C2C, YESSSSSSSS
Jazelle Scott-5’0 PG (Lady Hoops) handles the ball well, under pressure, yeah I knew that from the last time I saw her but when she dropped the crossover, I pulled something in my neck so I was hoping to see it again, I did, problem solved yet she will create some problems attacking and finishing as well as dishing, good upside
Yasmeen Scmidt-5’11 SG (SA Hoops) is long, athletic, and can flat out shoot that ball but watching her drop to mid to long-range is something I’ve already grown accustomed to, seeing her create it more grabs me, so is her ability to “catch and shoot” as well as attack the rim, in the open court or in the set but she will be on several college coaches shortlists because “they love big guards that can shoot”
Ava Machuca-5’2 G– what’s that hashtag I love to stop #sizedontmatter when you can play and understand when the trap is coming to avoid by maneuvering and handling the ball under pressure, she showed she could see the floor and control the tempo, but she also scored off the dribble multiple times
Seaniya Boglin-5’6 G (Cen Tex United) when you can finish strongly after the lick, that’s big yet when you understand how to create that contact before you get to high school, what’s bigger than big, huge I guess but guess what, she also drops the midrange which will help to keep the defender honest
Samiyah Bowers-5’10 F (CE Elite) saying she has a next-level body right now should raise an eyebrow but both will be raised because she’s athletic and powerful, with untapped potential, and watching her mannerisms on the court tells me a lot. She attacks so strong and finishes with players LITERALLY hanging on her, rebounds on both ends, and defends
Aniyah Shields-5’5 G (SA Select) did a very good job in the 1 on 1 drill, she was one of many so I knew what was coming as she attacks whenever she wants but I didn’t see the crossover earlier, she has it down pat as well as her court vision but her finishing with either hand was very nice
Rosanelly Pastrano-5’2 PG (SA Select) takes defender off the dribble with either hand and scores after contact, with either hand but she showed the HEZ, aka hesitation, and that, at this stage will create some problems
Jaiden Jones- another THROWBACK with the hashtag #BATTLES as she goes after loose balls galore, on the floor, out of bounds, in the stands if we had some but she also goes after it off the rim and outrebounds taller players because she understands positioning. She’s athletic, scored off the dribble and dropped the jumper
Mackenzie Donald-5’5 G (SA Finest) has so many stars and stripes by her name, she could have a flag but off the dribble, off-balance, body control, however you want it, she gets to the rim and finishes, with either hand but she also passes, with either and that is very impressive, so is her unlimited upside
Rebecca Robinson-5’4 PG (SA Lady Hoops) I love watching her create her jumper, she has range, mid to long, and showed the stop and pop jumper in transition but she does something else I love, plays the passing lane and with ballhandling and ability to see the floor, that usually leads to baskets from her directly or of assists, oh yeah, she rebounds
Zahra Hill-5’3 PG (Austin Elite) I asked her was she 25, she laughed I said no boo-boo #25, my bad and that’s because I locked heart #D1 at the Battle In The Alamo. She is so deceptive with the ball and creative at the same time but her ability to get the defender leaning so she can blow by them is better than some of these guards heading to D1 colleges. Very good range, scores off the dribble, ain’t nowhere near finished
Jordan Pete-5’5 G (SA Finest) not sure if she’s related to Calvin but for Pete’s sake, she’s more than par for the course and as many of you are scratching your heads, wait until you see her play because like that silent assassin, she can score in droves at the blink of an eye. The jumper, mid to long-range is just very good, so is her wanting the ball ” in the clutch” she is poised beyond her years
Cora Bennett-5’9 P (SA Lady Hoops) long and athletic is still the base, I love how she follows the ball off the rim, that will be major combined with length and height but she has nice moves around the basket, good hands, and footwork, and even passes the ball well
Sarah Brown-5’6 G (Pro Skills) the midrange jumper is a “lost art” that will get you a scholarship by itself, trust me, yet watching her create and make that her go-to, was very nice but don’t get it twisted, she can drop the long ball, she just waits for the best shot and she can score off the dribble
Shaywon Hickman-5’7 F late addition yet filled in nicely because she came in with a purple shirt on, Prince was on Tidal on my road trip so it fit yet she definitely showed royalty in the paint as she used her body to outrebound taller players and score off of put-backs, as well as off the dribble
Seanese Boglin-5’5 F (Cen Tex United) plays within herself, thinks the game, and did a good job defensively but she also showed she could knock down the jumper as well as score off the dribble. A heady player with good upside
Abryanna Caldwell-5’7 F (Hines D1) creating the shot is huge for me, I love seeing the younger players THINK THE GAME in an era where that has changed but she understands how to set the defender up and drop the jumper from multiple spots, with a hand in her face, good upside
Amanda Grate-5’0 PG (Cen Tex United) is another #sizedontmatter player that LIT IT UP because she handles the ball under pressure, this includes the open court, she scores off the dribble, she sees the floor, her first step is OMG, and she knocks down the jumper but, drumroll please, she plays the passing lane as I drop the mic
