’21 ABA sends a message at Prime Time

2015 Prime Time '21 ABA

THE WOODLANDS, Texas-The Prime Time Summer Hoops Tour has definitely been a joy for me to cover over the past few seasons not only here in the Houston area but throughout the Metroplex as well. I’ve seen several young players that I knew were or would be among the top players not only in Texas but across the country and I’ve seen some very good teams as well.  This weekend, ABA Supreme from Missouri came in and won the 6th/7th grade division going away and with several solid players from the 2021, this squad will be a force to be reckoned with at Prime Time Nationals. The squad has a little bit of everything including an athletic pair of sisters, Jaelyn and Briley Glenn who both showed plenty of energy while bringing heat on defense, Briley also was one of the team’s leading scorers but then again it seems like everyone scored in every game

Tatlynn Afualo, Natalie Rippy and Kayln Taylor all showed they put up numbers but as I said earlier this team was solid. Kiyley Flowers and Faith Hawthorne have range which can open things up for the inside or whatever else they throw at you between the backdoor cuts and pick and rolls these young ladies are definitely poised and have very good basketball comprehension throughout the team. Serena Sundell and Lauren Gillig not only scored and defended but they made huge plays to get the team going several times and once ABA gets going, they are hard to handle. I’ve seen several outstanding young teams over the years; Houston Hoops is still the best I’ve ever seen as over 10 of their players from the 2005 class wound up playing D1 and then there was HTX led by current college stars Brooke McCarty (Texas) and Dominique Dillingham (Mississippi State) and the BB-IQ from this ABA teams reminds a lot of that young HTX team

Stay tuned, I’ll be rolling out Tip Sheets from multiple divisions as well as tweeting out pics throughout the week. You can follow me @girlzpreprepreport as well as on my blog, tab is above
