2022 Winter Blast HS Tip Sheet
I cover a variety of events because one more time “talent is everywhere” if you know what you’re looking at and the countless next level players I’ve caught at Prime Time events over the years is mind-boggling in fact when I say next-level, I’m talking about the highest of the next level and catch #D1Locks galore including an 8th Grade Lauren Cox who I said was Top 25 in the country easy, she was #1 and won a National Championship at Baylor and plays in the WNBA, I’m that good, I’m not a novice and the only I need is cooperation, such as simple things like non-erroneous roster and throughout the event, there were definitely some #D1Locks in the younger divisions but with solid talent in the HS group, here you go
Kyndall King (War) 8th grader playing up yet she actually should be a 7th grader which told me a lot because she’s long and athletic, goes after everything off the rim as well loose balls on the floor, nice shot in the paint facing the basket plays the passing lane and has good upside
Angie Sherbue (War) battles inside the paint, whatever comes off the rim, she’s going after it and she understands how to use her strength to her advantage, finishes strongly after contact, and did a good job defending
Brynleigh Griffin (Triple Threat) she can shoot the 3, handle the ball under pressure as well as create her shot which she can drop from outside yet she’s heady and understands the importance of creating for her teammates, sees the floor well
Madison Collins (Triple Threat) understands how to attack the basket from multiple angles and showed quick hands on defense “on the ball”
Halle Hjelle (Triple Threat) strong rebounder that finishes on putbacks as well as around the basket showing some nice moves but she also did a good job defending, inside and outside the paint
Chastity Brown (Dream Team) attacks the basket strongly, finishes well yet she also did a good job of not only rebounding but blocking shots with her solid timing and she plays the passing lane
Janija Polk (Dream Team) strong body, rebounds and finishes inside the paint but she also scored off the dribble and the midrange, good defender, this includes playing the passing lane
Dinestity Butler (Dream Team) long and athletic is the base, she has good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots, good defender and she plays the passing lane
Jivan Caceres (Hays) played the passing lane over and over, sees the floor, and attacks the rim strongly yet her “on the ball” defense helped create turnovers as well as her quick hands to come up with steals
Lily Dela Rosa (Hays) size don’t matter when you can play, she can play and she understands two important things, how to score and how to stop someone from scoring, her quick hands enabled her to get plenty of steals
Rhlyan Fuqua (Hays) midrange shooting is a lost art yet she knocked it down consistently, she also rebounded on both ends yet she uses her body well in the paint to score and creates her shot
Lily Drachenberg (Hays) good body and size, runs the floor on both ends, also rebounds on both ends, and can finish
Julia Taylor (Hays) good defender, nice lateral movement to hold her man outside the paint but she also did a good job on the interior
Raygan Pack (Hays) took the defender off the dribble numerous times, she sees the floor, makes solid passes, and played the passing lane
Hannah Salinas (Hays) solid first step allowed her to take the defender to the basket, she also showed the pull-up jumper and she played the passing lane
