2022 The Queens Of The Hardwood Open Division recap
iI was so impressed with Grace Erbstoesser that I added her in the earlier article, she was that good yet the Boerne Champion star put her Boerne Extreme squad on her back, and with her abundance of #THROWBACK stuff she brought to the table, I “JUST DID IT” because I can yet on my journey over the past two decades, I just laugh and shake my head at some of this foolishness, even when it really was AAU but I still get joy out of finding players, many who go unnoticed yet I look for certain things because I know where the bar was set when I became involved
Debi Hernandez (SA Islanders) went completely off in a couple of games, I believe she dropped 34 in one of them yet it’s the way she did it, in a variety of ways and in the flow which basically means she did more than hit breakaway layups and she didn’t monopolize the ball to get baskets, well many still won’t get that but as good as she was, I was also excited to see her teammate, freshman Laura Sierra who has a tremendous amount of upside and her battling with Cindy Foka (CTX Lady Knights) was epic. Foka has been out for almost two seasons, ACL and pandemic and to be honest I thought she had moved away but she is back with a vengeance and that desire she possesses is just amazing. I also enjoyed her teammate Jolie Aguire as well as the progression from another Michaela Fallon
Jenae Moore (Players First) actually caught my eye last season right here, yes I use my search bar yet it seems like many don’t comprehend what the purpose of it is, yes I’m rude but I’m also right and the simple things that so many overlook is sad but the abundance of talented player I have seen who are progressing just blew me away, including basically that whole San Antonio Lady Hoops 2026 group. Simone Pryor and Jazelle Scott form one of the top 8th-grade backcourts I’ve seen this CLUB SEASON and the stock rising performances from both Sarah McFarlin and Aysia Gholston on the inside just had me going but hold on, Rebecca Robinson definitely showed more than the long ball and Cora Bennett is long and athletic, plus she can ball
Another young squad in the OPEN DIVISION, Austin Elite Sparks definitely lit some fire and when you have a 2027 playing up, Faith Etienne, who didn’t like me calling her baby before her game and after a monster block, she turned and looked at me, I LOVE THAT so her upside is even scarier than the look but Summer Sodek changing the temperature, #thereisnome, and you probably didn’t catch that but you better ready for her passes because they come at you from a variety of ways yet her scoring off the dribble as well as with the pull-up also kept the heat up. Progression from Parker Featherstone also grabbed me, especially her “catch and shoot” but this squad is solid and I can’t wait to catch them
I dropped even more on PGH Texas and remember to use COLSON20 for a 20% discount but also remember that the best way to be EVALUATED is to be where I AM, you have All Eyez On Me Individual Showcase coming up next month, June 10th in Round Rock TX and peep this, EVERY PLAYER WILL BE EVALUATED
