2022 Clear Creek Camp 2027/2028 WATCH
What an amazing 3 hours of enjoyable basketball I had at the Clear Creek Basketball Camp. Many of you don’t know that I became involved in this because my daughters wanted to play and watching them come up playing enabled me to see the hard work that was being put in and it changed my perception completely, my baby girl is still playing, in the WNBA after winning a National Championship at Texas A&M so during her time, NO ONE WAS COVERING TEXAS GIRL’S BASKETBALL and I got tired of complaining about what THEY weren’t doing so I JUST DID IT. I was only able to cover one day and I’ve mentioned quite a few players from the different classes so I’m closing with some of the top 2027/2028 players I saw
2027
Tristen Golden– creates her shots under pressure, a deceptive first step gets her to the basket with ease and she finishes after contact. She sees the floor and handles the ball well, both under pressure and she knocks down the mid to long-range jumper.
Jayden Golden– attacks the basket with either hand and finished the same way but she also does a good job of setting the defender up to get her shot off and she showed she could drop it consistently. She also defends and plays the passing lane
Avery Evans– good court vision coupled with size gives her numerous options because she can also score from the wing yet her rebounding on both ends was impressive, and so were her putbacks as well as scoring around the basket
Alyssa Harms-nice first step allows her to get by the defender and attack the rim, she also finished after contact but she made some nice passes, in traffic a few times as well as dropping the outside shot a few times, with a hand in her face
Lauren Duckworth– her finishes after contact was impressive as she showed her strength, as well as power, and that, really came in handy when she crashed the boards, on both ends yet she uses her body well, nice hands and footwork, good upside
2028
Natalia Mireles– her handling of the ball is falling into the dazzling category because she has the slight HEZ to get the defender leaning yet her seeing the floor and hitting her teammate in transition was also nice. She’s long and athletic, scores off the dribble and from outside, plus her timing is nice
Adarra Vanderford– is a solid rebounder that goes after the ball off the rim, this is always a good sign yet another was her battling for loose balls. Nice moves around the basket, she’s strong, finished on putbacks as well as facing the basket
Julia Kern– her playing the passing lane over and over just grabbed me because I love seeing that yet I also enjoyed her creating her shot as well as getting it off. Her jumper is fluid, she sets the defender up nicely and her release is quick as she showed the “catch and shoot”
