2021 I-35 Showcase (Dallas) 2024/25 Tip Sheet

TERESA MARTIN

I’m close this event out, well sort of, with the underclassmen yet I think I may drop something on Prep Girls Hoops Texas, like Top 5 each class and 5 to watch, I don’t know, I’m a genius at this, that’s for certain but here you go

2024

Saniya Burks-5’6 G continues to be one of the stars of the show every chance I catch her yet she keeps changing her hair which throws me off yet after a few bombs, I remember. Off the dribble, she’s so creative because she handles the ball well and has a variety of moves that enable her to get to the basket and finish yet her jumper, mid to long-range is very nice, so is her ability to see the floor

Taler Thornton-5’6 G wearing #51 in the 5th grade playing for a team around College Station had me smiling, that was my daughter’s number at Texas A&M, yet watching her going against older girls and actually dominating in some instances told me a lot so seeing her attack and finish using great body control, or just hitting the jumper in transition both were clicking, so was her defense

Allison Holman-5’8 G off the dribble, yeah she showed that in the 1 on 1 drill, and watching her finish with either hand just set the stage. She creates her shot well, understands how to keep the defender guessing because her mid to long-range is nice, but what I also liked was she understands how to do something very important and that’s catch and shoot

Brooklyn Alexander-5’11 PF impressive performance on my first real good look at her, she defended well off the top, this includes outside the paint but she’s long and athletic and played the passing lane but she finished strongly inside, show great hands and footwork, plus she attacked off the dribble to also finish, after contact. Her size and upside is scary, trust me

Kennedi Alexander-6’0 PF got a very good look at her a few weeks ago, so good that I added her to the PGH Texas Top 100 but like her twin, she’s long and athletic and plays the passing lane but she also understands how to create her shot, under pressure and knock it down from outside. Yeah, she can score off the dribble and finish with contact, both players remind me so much of their older sister and they both will be making noise

TORI KILBURN & KATIE ALLEN

2025

Katie Allen-5’7 G I love heady players, she understands the game and she dissects the defense and immediately she caught my eye with the entry pass by looking the defender off, then on the flip, she created her shot very well, under pressure and showed the mid to long-range game. She attacks off the dribble with either hand and can score with either hand but her ability to see the floor just grabbed me

Tori Kilburn-5’10 SF showed she could drop it from just about anywhere, much of this because she can create her shot, much of it because she can shoot it but she also can “catch and shoot” as well as take defenders off the dribble. She rebounds and plays the passing lane and her defense was solid inside and outside the paint, she even blocked some shots

Alaysia Gude-5’8 G one of the most explosive young guards in Texas, her first step is a KILLA and in the open court, watching her change gears makes me smile but her range keeps getting deeper, she gets it off whenever she wants because the defender has to give her air yet another thing I love seeing when she attacks and that’s thrown passes on the money, with either hand

Abbie Martin-5’5 G shall I start with her pesty defense as she loves being on the ball and that creates turnovers yet she also does a good job of handling the ball under pressure and seeing the floor, also under pressure so she did a good job when she ran the 1, yes she can control the tempo and she showed she could score as she dropped some jumpers

Vanessa Coleman-5’8 G BATTLES are in caps and watching her go after the ball is a very good sign at this stage of her career but she also finishes, either on putbacks from grabbing offensive boards or finishing around the basket, yeah, after contact but she can attack from the wing and she showed she could drop the long ball

Bailey Wilson-5’9 F also did a very good job of going after the ball off the rim. Little things like that will mean big things down the road, trust me, and her desire to rebound just had me going back in time. She finished strongly, this includes putbacks from offensive rebounding, it also includes after contact and her defense was nice

Brooke Bettis-5’5 G she attacks the basket smooth yet fierce and watching her dazzling handling of the ball is hypnotizing, to defenders, not me because I quirt looking but she sees the floor and makes the correct passes, that’s big, but the zip on the pass is huge as she threads the needle like a master seamstress. She also scored off the dribble as well as from the outside

Sarahi Beltran-5’2 G is also wicked with the handles, hey I got a kick out of her spinning going full speed leaving the defender cemented, you can’t teach that, she did it instinctively but she understands how to get to the rim numerous ways. Her court vision is very good, she can throw touchdowns on the money from the other end but she also can score outside and off the dribble
