2021 I-35 Showcase (Dallas) 2022 Tip Sheet
This was my first trip to Royse City yet a Rolls Royce of talent was on hand for the event so I’ll start with the seniors
Mariah Robinson-5’7 G in the skills, yeah she showed me off the top what was coming so watching her create her shot for the jumper or attack off the dribble was nice yet so was her ability to “ catch and shoot” but attacking and finishing with good body control was a big plus for me
Kelliah Walker-5’8 PG no notes needed on the redhead who started the session off on fire yet I’ve become accustomed to watching her go off, her pull-up jumper, her court vision as well as her ability to control the tempo in any setting is always good but her desire to come back strongly after an injury is just something else
Ashlee Seymore-6’1 PF/C used her body nicely on both ends, watching her battle for boards was nice, especially on the offensive end and scoring on putbacks after contact yet she also showed solid hands and footwork to finish as well as good timing to block shots
Lauryn Williams-5’4 G used her athleticism nicely on both ends and starting with her defense, she actually enjoys applying pressure and it helped create turnovers yet she attacks and finishes by creating her shot and dropped some jumpers
Raylee Cave-5’10 SF watching her dive on the floor during the season was nice, yet in the drills, awe man, that just took me back but she used her body as well as footwork and hands to finish after contact as well as rebound on both ends
Renee Ramoni-6’0 PF came from Buffalo cause I was here, no but she did tell me there were buffaloes roaming in New York so we hit it off immediately and even more so after I saw her “ you won’t outwork me” mindset as she went after the ball off the rim, finished with both hands after contact and defended
Katlyn Jasper-5’4 G her first step sold me during the 1 on 1 session and it continued during the games yet off the dribble with ease and finishing the same way, with ease was nice but she did it with both hands, very nice but to keep defenders honest, she nailed the pull-up jumper
Lili Garcia 5’5 G she reminded me I failed to send our picture last event, my bad yet she showed me, even more, this go-round, her good, as she pushes the ball in transition and hits teammates on the money but she also rebounds and goes after loose balls, including on the floor, the jumper was solid too
Deja Lumsden-5’10 SF was on my All-Tournament team at Prime Time Nationals yet her explosiveness off the dribble was prime time worthy as she finished however she wanted and that jumper, either in transition or creating it is why I added her to Top 100
Heaven Hayden-5’9 CG I’m sure she gets tired of me asking what her name is yet I love picking with people and so does she see as she picks defenders apart with a variety of moves so yeah, I love her jumper and attacking the rim yet she ran down players on defense from the other end and her on the ball defense was just insane
Desiree Marshall-Penny-5’5 PG one of my favorite new faces over the club season and watching her drop a silent 40, it was in the flow, told me a lot yet she can handle the ball with either hand under pressure, her finishes are acrobatic, yet that jumper, mid to long-range just changes momentum, oh yeah, her court vision, she throws dines with ease
Khalayah Willis-5’8 PG plays under control and within herself yet the pressure is irrelevant because she’s ice so yeah, she sees the floor and makes the right passes either off the dribble or just running the set but she also attacks and finishes, plus hit the outside shot
Brooklin Brown-5’9 SG is one of the best pull-up jumpers that go in the basket in Texas. Call her Downtown, Midtown, whatever, she was dropping it from OUT OF TOWN yet she’s long and athletic, plays the passing lane as well as solid defense, and seeing her glide through the air to finish just makes me smile
