2021 Duel State All-Star Games 5th/6th Grade Tip Sheet pt 2
In part 2 of the 5th/6th Grade Division, I wanted to focus on the inside play and although some players are actually versatile enough to play multiple positions, this assessment by know means that the players won’t wind up playing other positions because sometimes that “growth spurt” may change off the court, it’s always important to continue “growth” on the court and expanding your game yet these 10 players bring the count up to 25 from this division, more will be added on my BLOG so remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and The Gram @girlzprepreport where you can be assured of someone telling you things without any agenda

Bailey Burns-P (Paris JC) I stress progression and upside as two of the many things I watch yet I also like desire and all three are something I continue to see. She’s becoming a force on the inside, good comprehension always helps and keeping the ball, good hands and footwork and finishing strongly continue to be pluses yet so does her facing the basket to score as well as defending outside of the paint
Destini Etier-SF (Paris JC) long and athletic is what, the base for those who haven’t been paying attention and it’s what I start with on several profiles. She attacks strongly and finishes the same way, this includes after contact but her “man to man pressure” her “playing the passing lane” and her upside and agility were all great first impressions on what she’ll become
Layla Flowers-F/P (Trinity Valley JC) I wrote UPS and is nothing to do with delivering parcels yet she definitely delivers as she elevates off the ground and over defenders. She has excellent timing to change defenders shots or just block them and watching her grab the ball afterwards and utilize her speed while handling the ball led to baskets
Chloe Garcia- P (Trinity Valley JC) body is already sending messages as she’s smooth in the paint, hands, and footwork have a lot to do with that as well as her finishing sometimes effortlessly, this includes after contact. I like her upside because she already has the basics down and when you combine her size and age, she’s going to do some damage
Reighan Carey-F (Trinity Valley JC) attacks from everywhere, either from the wing or straight down the middle yet she also finished with both hands, which was impressive as well as doing it after the lick which was even more impressive. She played the passing lane and showed she could handle the ball in the open court
Reagan Wheatley-F (Trinity Valley JC) good size and body is always helpful and when you throw in she does things powerfully, whether it’s rebounding on either end with authority, attacking the rim from multiple angles, or finishing on put-backs, both after contact yet she did a good job on the defensive end as well showing she could move her feet and get the positioning

Brooklyn Markert-F/C (Temple JC) long and athletic, she already gets several things like throwing the outlet on target and not only igniting the break on one end yet finishing the same play on the other by running the floor. Her timing is very good right now, with the wingspan she alters, deflects, or blocks numerous shots as well as showed she could rebound on both ends
Kashlynn Cooper PF (Temple JC) I wrote “beast type” because of her effort on the boards as well as after the loose balls, again you can’t teach desire but she does a number of things offensively like attack and finish, hard and well and her ability to create her shot accounts for that as well as a legitimate pull-up jumper
Bailey Guthery-F/P (Trinity Valley JC) long and athletic, again, that’s the base and she is on the verge of falling into that “highlight waiting to happen” category because not only does she finish strongly, she finishes acrobatically and when you have good body control and can defy gravity at this stage, trust me, she’s going to make plenty of noise
Amiyah Briones-F (Weatherford JC) did a good job rebounding, especially on the defensive end where she just controlled the paint at times, her upside is pretty good because she’s strong and has a strong body plus she doesn’t mind the physicality , either giving nor taking and she took it well, finishing after contact
