2021 Battle In The Alamo 15U Division Tip Sheet

This division had a nice mix of ages and talent with some players playing up and leaving me somewhat speechless while others are on the verge of taking their games up, up, and away

KAHLEN & KENDALL CASTRO

Kahlen Castro (San Antonio Lady Hoops Turquoise) handles the ball well and showed it numerous times going C2C to finish yet she also finishes in the set where she creates her shot, under pressure, to knock the jumper or attack

Kendall Castro (San Antonio Lady Hoops Turquoise) played the passing lane numerous times as well as solid defense but she also scored off the dribble to finish strongly, after contact, plus she did a good job rebounding

Karvi Madyashta (CE Elite 2024 White) first step set everything up as she took defenders with either hand to either finish or dish, yeah she sees the floor well but she also showed she could knock down the pull-up jumper

Julia Mueller (CE Elite 2024 White) solid rebounding on both ends, finished strong on putbacks, after contact and also showed she could attack the rim from outside the paint and finish

Andrea Pleasante (Houston United White) I love seeing players play the passing lane, she did it numerous times but she also attacks the rim hard yet under control and finished strongly

Aike Essig (Austin Elite Fire) showed a nice pull-up jumper, both in the half-court as well as in transition but her attack the rim and defense also was solid

Janiya Alvarex (Austin Elite Fire) has plenty of upside and when you start with “long and athletic” that’s the base but she can put it on the floor, showed a nice crossover and she finished strongly

Kelly Ufodiama (Austin Elite Fire) also long and athletic and it’s still the base and she too has some good upside and by doing things instinctively, like playing the passing lane, that’s a great foundation

Noelle Raggio (Austin Elite Fire) I wrote “Red On FIYA” and she was as she put on a nice shooting exhibition from mid to long-range all weekend but she also saw the floor as well as put it on the floor to score off the dribble

Azariya Franklin (Lions Life) smoothly sets defenders up to take off the dribble and she finishes with either hand, after contact and when you throw in she plays good defense and scores from outside…

Zoey Yanez (Lions Life) creates her shot under pressure and knocks it down but she also handles the ball under pressure and saw the floor but she also scored off the dribble

Adaya Toussiant (Lions Life) one of those “you won’t outwork me” players and her understanding positioning enabled her to rebound over taller players, on both ends of the court and she played good defense

Lala Jackson (Lions Life) long and athletic, one more time that is the base, and when you throw in UPS, she will create some problems. Her timing is very good, she blocked, altered, and deflected shots, she runs the floor, rebounds, and finishes

Londyn Johnson (San Antonio Lady Hoops Maroon) creates her shot under pressure and showed she could knock the long ball down multiple times as well as the midrange but she also handled the ball in traffic and saw the floor

Aysia Gholston (San Antonio Lady Hoops Maroon) strong rebounder and finisher off the dribble but she also showed she could apply pressure on the defense, and she played the passing lane
