2019 Gold Champs Arizona Mavericks

2019 AZ Mavericks

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma-I’m checking out that maroon I’m all too familiar with at Oakdale middle school and I’m thinking it must be a typo, I’m looking at an Arkansas Mavericks team that I’ve become all too familiar with over the years however I was wrong, this indeed was the Arizona Mavericks 2019 squad and to say that they had some players is simply an understatement. Let me start with the starting #sizedontmatter backcourt of Senya Rabouin and Monet Sachs, two names you better remember. Rabouin can shoot the long ball and I mean shoot it well while Sachs can also shoot it but watching her handle the ball and get to the rim whenever she wanted was special

Jacey Carter is another talented starter that simply filled in the blanks and did the things that might not show up in the box score however she’s solid on both ends. Haley Paloma comes off the bench to give them another guard that can shoot the long ball and when she and Melanie Isbell take the backcourt duties, there’s no let up because they bring heat and I mean Arizona heat, hot and dry but Isbell handles the ball like a yoyo and can shake the lens out of a camera,, how you like that one. Jenna William has stars all over the page, she’s heady, gets to the rim whenever against whoever and her physicality adds a different element to this talented squad

At 6’0, Aniston Biel has a very bright future and she’s another one of the key reserves on the team but the inside duo of Neanely Greer and Marquandra Mason are something to see. Greer, along with Paloma and Rabouin are actually from the 2020 class which is a bonus as you never would have known it. Greer can simply dominate from the post position, she blocks numerous shots effortlessly because of her excellent timing plus she’s a rebounding machine on both ends that can finish and step out and hit the midrange. Someone mentioned another evaluator wasn’t impressed with Mason, primary reason I do my own thing and don’t read others because this kid is legit and when I tweet Baby Barkley, I’m not doing it because I have extra characters left. Mason is smart, knows how to set defenders up off the dribble and also showed she had range, from Arizona
