2018 UHE Lightning #StateLineBattle
HOUSTON, TEXAS- There’s an old saying about Lightning not striking twice in the same place however that isn’t always the case as the Louisiana Lighting under Urban Heroes, struck twice with a couple of talented teams at the Texas Phenoms State Line Battle, fortunately I knew some of the talented players from previous stories I’ve done like Cierra Taylor, a talented 2022 who sparkled on the 8th grade squad, there we others and also Tiara Young who I called a #D1Lock many years ago, both made the Tip Sheet
Emily Ward shot the ball well from outside, good size, power on the inside form both Chelsea Johnson and Nahja Scott as both scored and rebounded well at 6’0 and above. Taylor Dewitt plays like she’s 6’0, just a shade or 2 under, long and athletic, gets to the basket with ease and defends while Raven Johnson and Mykaria Winn made things happen. Speaking of making things happen, that pull-up Makayia Hallmon is one of the best I’ve seen this season. She elevates over taller players, attacks and finishes with contact and will bring heat on defense baseline to baseline
