2018 Tyrone Johnson Showcase UTR Tip Sheet

'18 TJS Claire Hale

CLAIRE HALE (SAN ANTONIO ISLANDERS)

Round Rock, TEXAS-Always remember two things, talent is everywhere and the more “legitimate” exposure you get can truly help you at having options for the next level and when you look at the odds on going to the next level, sometimes it sinks in but usually at the last minute. Several players I follow or have been following over the years continue to show progression and drive and I caught up with many at Austin Elite’s Tyrone Johnson Showcase

2019

Andreea Mancha-guard (HTX Fire 2019) one of the best long ball shooters in Texas 2019, hands down and this young lady loves pressure and delivers in the clutch be it HS playoffs and upsetting the #1 seed or on center court at exposure event dropping three long balls in a minute, she doesn’t fazed by anything

Claire Hale-guard (San Antonio Islanders) the work ethic is only superseded by playing injured, I’ve watched her over the years and she just won’t quit. Picture perfect jumper, she is elevating over defenders to drop them from deep, creating under pressure for the mid, taking the ball coast to coast, whatever it takes

Cassidy Howard-guard (Texas Elite Bibbs) explosive scorer is something I always saw her as over the years, well the many years I’ve been watching her play. She can be on and drop 4 or 5 threes in a row, done that in front of me many times but she is creating better, mixing it up offensively and her ability to run a team adds to what she brings to the table

'18 TJS Marchelle Willis

MARCHELLE WILLIS (TEXAS ELITE ADIDAS STARS BIBBS)

2020

Marchelle Willis-guard (Texas Elite Adidas Stars Bibbs) how well can shoot it, quite well and her mix of mid to long ball is mind boggling at times but she always could fill it up. Her ability to create under pressure is my “takeaway” as that gives her options, especially since she’s attacking stronger

2021

Raven Adams-guard (Texas Elite Stars Burroughs) one of the best PG’s in Texas in her class, been saying that since I first saw her in 4th grader. Poised, under control and can take over when needed. Understands how to run a team and get others involved, shoots long ball or can attack, already has D1 offers on the table

Aiken Semones-guard (Texas Elite 2020) great name for her squad because I didn’t need 20/20 to know what I was looking at five years ago when she was dropping the long ball falling down and now she’s stronger, handles the ball better under pressure and can mix it up offensively

Valerie Panuco-guard (Lady Wolfpack 15U) heady guard that did so many things you won’t see on a scoresheet is definitely filling that same scoresheet up all over. Dropping long ball effortlessly and efficiently while scoring on the mid or attacking but what has really taken off is her defense as she is bringing heat

 '18 TJS Panuco

VALERIE & CAITLYN PANUCO (LADY WOLFPACK 15U)

2022

Mercedes Mancha –guard (HTX Fire 2022) I tweeted I knew she was good but not that good recently because I’ve seen her knock down the long ball over the years but her ability to “catch and shoot” accurately, attack the basket and finish with contact and her defense all keep going up and she’s on the verge

Kolby Davis-guard (HTX Fire 2022) powerful and under control, fluid on shot and gets to the basket with ease. Rebounds well on both ends and can handle the ball in the open court. Good size and knowledge of the game but what she’s really showing more of is her ability to see the court and make plays

Caitlyn Panuco-guard (Lady Wolfpack 15U) one of the best offensive players at Tyrone Johnson Showcase, went completely off every game I saw but that’s a given. What has jumped is her taking the punishment when attacking and staying with it on the long ball setting her up for 4 point opportunities
