2018 Lake City Pride #StateLineBattle
HOUSTON, TEXAS- That old saying about talent being everywhere is something that is time proven and since I’ve been around a long time and basically proven a lot of what I thought and said, in writing, that should be enough however in the age of social media and all the hocus pocus stuff that’s prevalent in girls it’s always good for me to say I was right and I caught many of the younger players on this talented Lake City Pride squad last season playing in another event that I used to cover from the 2021 class, Ariyon Artis, who made the Tip Sheet, TyJa’na May, who’s name I spelled incorrectly as well as Ma’ Riah Lemoine, again, name (sic) so those three as well as Ariana Victor, first look, round out the freshmen who made noise then and now for the Lake City Pride squad at the Texas Phenom’s State Line Battle and let me give special S/O to head coach Jalicia Bilbo for sending me their team roster 2 weeks before event even started, read more
The 2020 group of Pride players has a little bit of everything, powerful Brileigh Slaughter and Summer Ceaser rebound well on both ends of the floor, both can finish as well while Raegan Ojora was a shot blocking machine, excellent timing and great athleticism and the energy they omitted kept the heat going. Speaking of heat, Brooklyn Fontenot blazes by defenders to the basket, she’s athletic, high energy and has range and speaking range, 2019 twins Jamaica and Jameica James had me thinking I was seeing double as they were shooting the lights out from all over. Both also attacked and defended well but the shooting and attacking didn’t stop there as Amiya Dartest showed she was unconscious at time from BTA. Plenty of catch and shoot players and this squad and she was one of the best. It was a toss between Fontenot and Aaliyah Williams for the Tip Sheet after opening game, Williams simply went completely off in game 2 but many will make another Tip Sheet
