2016 Showcase Classic WNBA Tip Sheet
IRISH WINN
HOUSTON, Texas-The inaugural Showcase Classic opened and closed with a bang as I had the opportunity to catch a glimpse at players I had never seen from the area as well as a better look at some of the ones that I already knew about. Initially I planned on doing a Tip Sheet and some mini stories however after continuously being impressed with so many players from so many teams, I decided the WNBA Division warranted its own by itself. Keep in mind you may want to follow me on Twitter and (or) Instagram otherwise you’ll probably miss something and also remember if you need help getting a player out there, check me out here
2016
Alize Washington (Lady Jags) attacked the basket for buckets and scored well from outside, strong body enables her to finish with contact
2017
Ravae Payne (TJ Ford 17U) came up with big baskets throughout event especially during crunch time, has a knack for being around the ball
Ireneshia Johnson (Houston Hoops) virtually unstoppable at times in the paint, explosive rebounder who punishes on both ends, added three ball to her arsenal
Ashley D’Curie (Shooting Stars) made plays and baskets throughout event, plays under control on both ends, good mid and long range shooter
DEZIREE WHITE
2018
Jocelyn Thompson (Clutch City Hoopstarz) talk about explosive, day one was off the chain as she scored multiple ways was from just about everywhere on the floor
Kayla Cobbs (Lady Dominators) continues to expand game, very unselfish and can score in the flow. Long and athletic, attacks well from wing and defends
Keana Watson (Elevation Dream) loves to push the ball and gets to rim frequently. Body control makes her an and one waiting to happen, brought heat on D
Stephanie Gregory (HIO) game continues to evolve, showed she could score when needed but never took a play off on either end
Irish Winn (Hitchcock Select) definitely a highlight for me, scores inside or outside, fearless on both ends, creates her own shot very nicely
Tia Tolbert (Katy Rebels Tolbert) aggression definitely improved on both ends, long or midrange is consistent, scored well with either hand going to basket
Jalyn Johnson (Runnin Rebels) athletic with hang time and can score sort of sums up her game but it doesn’t because she rebounds and defends
Dezeree White (Showcase 17U) every time I see her she keeps getting better and when you can do things like she does instinctively with her skill set , big things are coming
