2014 4A Road To Campbell

2013 Wheatley Taylor

ARIEL TAYLOR (WHEATLEY)

I didn’t catch any 4A district games this season but I’ve seen some 4A teams’ battle against 5A teams during the season so I’m going to try and take a swipe at some of the teams that are in the playoffs in R3

17-4A

All I know is Georgetown, they are the defending champs and they were impressive to watch. Haley Frias followed a solid season last year with a super summer and she and Taylor Lacour are the leading scorers for a team you don’t want to snooze on

18-4A

Brenham is definitely a team that will create problems because of two words, Big Tee, 6’8 Teaira McCowan. She and 6’4 Alencia Woodsberry form an impressive front line and although I haven’t seen Montgomery, they’ve tied Brenham in district so they might be a threat

19-4A

Summer Creek and Barbers Hill are a couple of teams I know a little something about. I’ve been watching SC stars Jayla Calhoun and Sugar Young almost forever, as well as Kimmy Carter from Barbers Hill however both teams have star power and could do some damage

20-4A

Ozen and Lumberton are the two top teams, I haven’t seen either however Lumberton’s Allison Jacks scored from outside a couple of gyms with her club team last summer

21-4A

North Forest and Wheatley split district, last night Wheatley evened the score, here’s the story. Joi Simmons and Fantasia Johnson are putting up numbers as they lead the way for North Forest while LaMycia Hamilton and Stefany Williams are averaging just under 10 ppg. The Wildcats “Big Three” of Ariel Taylor, Meashell Crosby and Eryka Sydney are super explosive

22-4A

Tomball and Tomball Memorial are tied for first. Tomball’s Carissa Diaz, an HBU signee, is a double-double waiting to happen and she’s ready to help lead her squad back to Campbell and beyond. Tyia Jackson, Kenya Miles and Jalyn Clay lead this talented TM squad

23-4A

Lamar Consolidated and Brazosport are the top two teams with star power players who can simply dominate. Have I mentioned Lamar Consolidated ’s Ann Nwosah was a beast? Probably a thousand times as the McNeese St signee is not only a throwback player, she can take over on both ends.  Brazosport youngster Jasmyne Harris can also take over on both ends and as a six foot guard, three letters, BCS

24-4A

This district finished tight as Goose Creek Memorial, led by Faith Cook and GPR Under The Radar player Amber Richard lead the way. Next you have Dawson, Galveston Ball and Friendswood in the race
