2017 PBR Super 64 Tip Sheet

'17 Super 64 Buster

JALA BUSTER (Texas Elite Adidas GATA 17U)

FRISCO, Texas-The song went I Left My Heart In San Francisco but my song was I had to leave plenty of talented players in Frisco Texas because as well know or should now, talent is everywhere, but I tried to see as many new faces as possible, for that same reason. The Super 64 has grown into one of the major July events in the country and the abundance of players capable of playing college ball were battling all over the place. Here are some of the standouts that I saw

2018

Dymond Gladney-guard (Texas Elite 17U Adidas Phenoms) solidified her status as one of states top guards, if you were paying attention when I said that her freshman season you’d already know. When you run the point, it’s always important to handle the pressure and she does that as well as brings it on the other end. Sets teammates up nicely for easy looks and can score when needed or when she wants

Jala Buster-forward ( Texas Elite Adidas GATA 17U) one of the most athletic players in the state, immaculate timing on blocks, plays passing lane like a cornerback, an all pro cornerback and attacks relentlessly from the wing. Scores with contact, rebounds on both ends, hopefully you get the picture

Destiny Smith-forward (Elite 3 Red) there are plenty of  players that do similar thing on this squad however Smith’s timing and explosiveness off the ground kept me focused on watching her rebound and block shots. Throw in she’s over 6’0 and voila, you definitely have a next level player

Arianna Taylor-forward (Houston Lady Roadrunners) from where she is now to where she was five years ago is simply amazing. I knew she’d be good but she’s gone from being the tallest player stuck in the paint to a 6’1 player with the ability to shoot the 3 and defend both inside and on the perimeter. Very vocal and focused on the court and just keeps bringing it

Maia Robinson-post (Lady Jets Platinum Elite) she’s 6’2, doesn’t shy away from contact and loves to give it, rebounds on both ends and finishes strong.  Having a powerful next level body is always a plus

Natalie Terwilliger-post (PSPA Rams 17U) good next level body; bangs inside and can score in the paint as well as rebound on both ends. Also can turn around and hit the easy ones, step out and drop the mid and stretch the defense with the long ball

'17 Super 64 Walter

ABBY WALTER (UTLB Green)

2019

Abbey Walter (UTLB Green) the more I see this squad, the more I’m impressed and the jump since April tells me they’ve been working. Walter gets the nod not just because I love the name of her high school for personal reasons but because of that stroke. It’s always great to see shooter but this young lady’s ability to catch and shoot with accuracy from all over the court definitely caught my attention

Malay McQueen-guard (Lady Jets Platinum) when you drop six threes with players hanging on you, that’s pretty good, however when you’re looking to take the clutch shots and connect, well that’s impressive. How she was open to send the game into overtime is over my head but she nailed it and with her athleticism and ability to mix it up, she’s on target

Noelle Yancy-guard (NTX Lights Out 2019 Elite) knew she was on track before she hit middle school and the race is far from over. Gets to the basket whenever she wants against whomever she wants and is an and one waiting to happen. Strong with great athleticism and that hang time definitely creates problems

2020

Kenyal Perry-post (Lady Flames Elite) I’ll be honest, I didn’t see her play however I chatted briefly with her and watched her snag a loose ball coming into the stands with one hand so that in itself tells me she’s a college prospect based on her hand/eye coordination. Well that and the fact that she’s 6’6

Hailey Van Lith-guard (Northwest Blazers Orange Gauntlet) I guess mesmerized would be the word I would use as Van Lith has the handles to hypnotize defenders. Love the swag, that pull-up, mid to long is simply devastating as well as those “no looks” coming at you. Clearly one of the top guards in that loaded 2020 class nationally
