JASMYNE DIXON (LCA)

HOUSTON, Texas- Prime Time has always given me a glimpse of players I hadn’t seen, may not have ever seen and out of that group there are usually some talented kids that will fall Under The Radar no matter what they believe, where they travel, it’s the nature of the beast but with that being said I’m always looking for new faces in new places and I was certainly pleased at the faces I caught up with that I had seen before and the new ones that showed me that they were or will be Prime Time ready before it’s all said and done. The youngsters that were getting after it definitely showed promise and I did my best to identify as many players as I could, providing I had information on them and here are some of the standouts from the event. Keep in mind this is only part of what I do, I’ll also be tweeting out some mini clips so if you aren’t following me on social media and I happened to get a pic, you’ll never know what you might miss.

MAEGAN BAZAN (LADY FALCONS)

HS DIVISION

Joecelyn Young (ASA) I love player that get after it and Young definitely does that. She goes after everything on the boards, dives on floor for loose balls and her ultra-athletic ability enables her to elevate over defenders to score. She’s long and attacks off the dribble effortlessly for baskets, defends well and just brings it every play

Jasmyne Dixon (LCA) she’s 6’2 with plenty of upside, nowhere near the finished product but she understands the simple things like keeping the ball up, running the floor and moving her feet on defense. Over time, I do see her as being a threat, good hands and athleticism, nice timing, able to alter shots already if she doesn’t block them and being a 2020, nothing but time

Chandler Jones (TBT) off the top, she showed me she could create her shot under pressure and nail it. Good catch and shoot midrange game, also scores off the dribble and finishes with contact

Chukwidima Okah (Texas Inferno) plays bigger than size. Loves to bang on inside and finishes strong in paint.  Also rebounds well on both offensive and defensive end and with her desire and just a 2019, upside looks nice

Sharlyne Dimalanta (Ft Bend Barracudas) another 2020 with some very good upside. Definitely has a  knack for the game, creates and handles ball well under pressure. Nice mid and long range game and showed she could score off the dribble

Epihany Wilson (Sunnyside Cougars) very athletic player that nails the tough shots when needed and showed she can score in droves. Nice pull-up on midrange which was definitely on and that stop and pop on the break is definitely something to see

Emily Sims (Uptempo Sports) another very athletic player that just keeps coming at you. Good baseline to baseline pressure on defense , nice first step to the basket from the wing and she does what I love to see on the court, play the passing lane

Maegan Bazan (Lady Falcons) don’t know if I would have caught this 2020 however immediately one thing caught my eye. She was 6’0 and could shoot the basketball. Okay that was two things but that in itself definitely catches eyes at the next level

Hannah Matthews (365) good inside moves, finishes strong and by that, with players hanging on her. Good hands and footwork, defends and rebounds well and just battles you start until it’s over

 VICTORIA RIVERA (SHOOTING STARZ)

MS DIVISION

Sissy Thompson (ASA) saw her 3 years ago and figured huge things were in store. She’s so smooth that things just look easy when she does them and at times, I feel she doesn’t know how good she is but trust me it’s there. Scores multiple ways, handles the ball well and can defend

Victoria Rivera (Shooting Starz) all bets are off on this young lady who had a growth spurt both on and off the court. Long and athletic is just part of it, unbelievable range at this age and she creates very well and when you factor in she’s a 2022 and doing what she’s doing, just trust me

Niyah Johnson (HTX Fire) long and athletic, definitely creates match-up problems on both end as she can not only score inside and outside, she can defend in the paint and the perimeter. She rebounds well on both ends and I’m seeing much more potential

Bryanna Turner (ASA) I guess electrifying is the word I’m look for to describe this young lady in the open court. Hang time, very acrobatic not to mention that speed, with the ball are only some of the things that caught my eye. She defends and puts the ball in the basket multiple ways
