2017 Prime Time Elite Hoops Showcase

'17 PT EHS Tyraven Lynwood Purple Pride

TYRAVEN LYNWOOD (PURPLE PRIDE)

PLANO, Texas- Another trip to the Dallas area proved exciting and eventful as well as gratifying as I had a chance to catch even more talented players capable of playing at the next level that I hadn’t had a chance to see or see enough of previously.

Prime Time Sports Elite Hoops Showcase was played at the PSA facility in Plano and I definitely had a blast and not just because of the wifi, well that definitely was a plus but it was definitely an evaluators dream with the four courts running side by side so I saw a lot and of course, one more time, talent is definitely everywhere, that is if you know what you’re looking at

Thanks to all of the coaches and (or) directors that sent in rosters ahead of time as well as the ones that got me what I needed before event was over and here are some of the standouts from the event

High School Division

Tyraven Lynwood (Purple Pride) long and athletic generally works and when you add the fact that Lynwood handles the ball under pressure in the open court and can finish with contact, those are definitely pluses but when you throw in range on her shot, well the potential is definitely there

Yasmin Johnson (Texas Warriors) good athleticism and high energy, plays defense baseline to baseline and also anticipates well. Nice first step enables her to blow by defenders and she showed she could finish strong with contact

Molly Fimian (Dallas Force) does a good job running the one, creates not only for herself under pressure but sets teammates up nicely. Good BB-IQ and she definitely showed she can score whe needed, mid to long range

Taylor Lewe (Hurricanes Dallas) Lewe was definitely someone to be reckoned with throughout the event on the inside. Attacks relentlessly and finishes with players hanging on her, also rebounds well on both ends

Samantha Burns (Lady Wildcats) she hit one three and then dropped another to start a game on opening day and that’s not the Very unselfish, sees the court and understands who and when to give the ball. Also has nice midrange

'17 PT EHS Kelley AGA

KAILA KELLEY (AGA IRVING)

8/9th Grade Division

Jadyn Fife (NTX Raptors) I guess the fact that she’s a 2022 playing up is equally as impressive as her performance. Offensively, she has plenty f tools, gets to the rim, finishes acrobatically and hits the mid and long range with ease. Plenty of upside

Ty Pyburn (NC Elite Lady Huskies) goes to the basket strong and finishes stronger, battles for everything and hit a number of shots off balance. Defends well, inside and outside and just never takes a play off

Tabitha Johnson (Whitney Lady Wolfpack) that old saying “her best basketball is ahead of her” is sort of scary when you think that at 6’2 and in the 2023 class she is going to be a force. She’s coordinated, showed she can handle the ball in the open court, good hands and footwork, finishes, rebounds and that outlet was all overshadowed when she dropped a 3. HUGE UPSIDE

Kayla Fuller  (PAC Elite 2021) another fast and athletic guard that did plenty of damage offensively from the wing by driving to the basket and scoring from numerous angles along with playing the passing lane grabbing steals and scoring layups

Donovia Hall (GBD1 2021) she’s a 2022 playing up, she’s at least 5’9 and grabs rebounds on one end and going coast to coast to score on the other in dramatic fashion. She’s strong enough to play HS ball now, doesn’t shy from physicality and she showed she can step out and drop the mid and long range

Kaila Kelley ( AGA- Irving) good athleticism, never takes a play off, dives on floor for loose balls, beats players to the spot on defense is only a fraction of what Kelley brings to the table. She hit some highlight shots, either driving or stopping on a dime with pull-up. She also sees the floor and understands the game

 '17 PT EHS Johnson Wolfpack

TABITHA JOHNSON (WHITNEY LADY WOLFPACK)

7th Grade Division

Kyla Jones (Lady Jets) long, athletic and close to 6’0, with wingspan, calls for the ball on the inside, good timing on blocks or altering shots. Finishes and rebounds, good upside

Mia Ness (Hurricanes Dallas 2022) very good BB-IQ and at this stage of her career, that will be big down the road. Runs team efficiently, understands how to set teammates up for easy shots and can take over offensively if needed

Laila Grubbs (NTX Reign) finding players that love to defend at this stage is always a good sign; Grubbs brings it play after play and just watching her maneuver from various angles getting to the rim immediately told me something. Strong body and finishes that way, very athletic and huge upside

RayMonda Kemp (Lady Sparks Keller) loved watching her in the open court because I knew something was about to happen. First step is hard to defend, nice handle and athleticism lets her get wherever she wants and that midrange looks pretty good
